Hi All, been away for awhile and finally decided to put in my 2 cents. I'll be crazy and try to apply a bit of logic.
1. Many people on these forums believe that BMX, tfleming, P3 and britishturbo (you know who I mean) to be among the most reliable sources. vz_wired, for whatever reason is becoming this way - whether it's logical or not.
2. BGR has proven himself over and over again to be a largely unreliable source for quite some time.
3. Samsung has indicated that something BIG was headed our way.
4. Samsung has nominated a gaming unit - as yet unidentified - for the CTIA awards.
5. Virtually everyone in the world believes the Prime to be a game changing device.
6. So, here's the tie in: If we think BMX, britishturbo, P3, vz_wired to be reliable sources, and most of us do I think, then I'd draw this conclusion:
THE GSM SPECS ARE LIKELY ON POINT.
Why? Because BGR (and then everyone else) published specs that appeared to contradict all the above logic. Most of us think P3 leaked the info to BGR, so is P3 wrong or is it possible that he's screwing with BGR to make him look worse? What if P3, who looks very much in concert with BMX, britishturbo and others - at least on Twitter, did it as a red herring?
Let's face it, everything points to a 1.5 Ghz processor, an 8 MP camera, and the other big specs. Vz_wired disagreed with BGR's specs, britishturbo disagreed with those specs, BMX didn't agree or disagree with the specs but commented essentially that it was quite a surprise (sarcastic) that BGR screwed up the specs ON THE GOOGLE + PAGE FOR britishturbo, etc. They have all said that we'll be very happy with the outcome, so I have no reason not to believe that they've held the device and know what it contains.
Couple all of this with the upcoming release of the SGS II HD LTE in Korea and I frankly think it's highly illogical to believe the NP will launch with anything but equal specs, and likely better specs than it. Will it be an Exynos? God I hope so, but I think it's 50/50...I'll ask a basic question that's been on my mind for quite a while:
If Samsung has been developing the 4212 for months and they've been in communication with Google re: NP for months, is it not possible that they decided awhile back to use the 4212? Why is it impossible that they've thoroughly tested it in house and it's ready for internal distribution? All the speculation about 2012 is predicated on SAMSUNG'S STATEMENT. Isn't it at least possible that they've kept it under wraps, not unlike the information or disinformation about the Nexus Prime? I'm not saying it's a done deal, but it seems plausible that Samsung announces the device is "out for testing" to the world, but knows that most of it is already done in house...Someone tell me why that's not possible. Until then, I'm hanging on the specs provided by britishturbo, including the 1.5 Exynos!
Thanks and sorry for the novel...Hook 'Em!
