***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Thank You for your answer. That was my concern none of the leaks mention any kind of WiMAX 4G. Only mention of it ever was the poem from Black_man_x. I am tired of my Evo 3D I have to sit next to power supply. I am one buy it now away from buying a Nexus S. I'm waiting to see if I can get Nexus Prime instead. The delay and all the rumors are killing Me!! Will it be on Sprint in November?

Good questions all around.

I need to get back to the Evo 3D forums - mine works great on battery, so if you've posted there about it, we should maybe compare notes over there or something.

No idea about when it's going where - but something this big will be going everywhere in one form or anther - demand is huge and growing!

(in my opinion)

Hi All, been away for awhile and finally decided to put in my 2 cents. I'll be crazy and try to apply a bit of logic.

1. Many people on these forums believe that BMX, tfleming, P3 and britishturbo (you know who I mean) to be among the most reliable sources. vz_wired, for whatever reason is becoming this way - whether it's logical or not.

2. BGR has proven himself over and over again to be a largely unreliable source for quite some time.

3. Samsung has indicated that something BIG was headed our way.

4. Samsung has nominated a gaming unit - as yet unidentified - for the CTIA awards.

5. Virtually everyone in the world believes the Prime to be a game changing device.

6. So, here's the tie in: If we think BMX, britishturbo, P3, vz_wired to be reliable sources, and most of us do I think, then I'd draw this conclusion:

THE GSM SPECS ARE LIKELY ON POINT.

Why? Because BGR (and then everyone else) published specs that appeared to contradict all the above logic. Most of us think P3 leaked the info to BGR, so is P3 wrong or is it possible that he's screwing with BGR to make him look worse? What if P3, who looks very much in concert with BMX, britishturbo and others - at least on Twitter, did it as a red herring?

Let's face it, everything points to a 1.5 Ghz processor, an 8 MP camera, and the other big specs. Vz_wired disagreed with BGR's specs, britishturbo disagreed with those specs, BMX didn't agree or disagree with the specs but commented essentially that it was quite a surprise (sarcastic) that BGR screwed up the specs ON THE GOOGLE + PAGE FOR britishturbo, etc. They have all said that we'll be very happy with the outcome, so I have no reason not to believe that they've held the device and know what it contains.

Couple all of this with the upcoming release of the SGS II HD LTE in Korea and I frankly think it's highly illogical to believe the NP will launch with anything but equal specs, and likely better specs than it. Will it be an Exynos? God I hope so, but I think it's 50/50...I'll ask a basic question that's been on my mind for quite a while:

If Samsung has been developing the 4212 for months and they've been in communication with Google re: NP for months, is it not possible that they decided awhile back to use the 4212? Why is it impossible that they've thoroughly tested it in house and it's ready for internal distribution? All the speculation about 2012 is predicated on SAMSUNG'S STATEMENT. Isn't it at least possible that they've kept it under wraps, not unlike the information or disinformation about the Nexus Prime? I'm not saying it's a done deal, but it seems plausible that Samsung announces the device is "out for testing" to the world, but knows that most of it is already done in house...Someone tell me why that's not possible. Until then, I'm hanging on the specs provided by britishturbo, including the 1.5 Exynos!

Thanks and sorry for the novel...Hook 'Em!

But google is said to be using the omap as the platform which it is developing ics on so why put the exynos in the prime if they werent testing it on that chip? Guess only time will tell.

Valid point, but isn't the TI the rumored preference? Maybe the delays in the 4460 were known early? Either way, I'll give you this: I feel VERY comfortable that a 1.5 - either 4460 or Exynos 4212 - will be in the NP.

ok.... this time FOR SURE is the probably most likely the Nexus Prime going through the FCC i give you, the GT-I9250

Looks like it has freqs for Att maybe t-mobile? can't see nfc? anyways check it out

edit: No Att/Ver LTE 700 freqs
AHA!! so after doing some more research it looks like it's going to be an ATT/Tmobile freq single phone. i wasn't aware that tmob used the 850/1900 for it's GSM/2G/Edge speeds (although i should have) so the 1700mhz is their HSPA+ freq.

i wonder if its going to be 21 or 42mbps?

also it technically could still have nfc. i just went back and looked at the docs for the i777 and the only place it said RFID was at the bottom of the page under EUT Type which listed most of the relevant specs of things that broadcast. i was under the impression that on the radio diagram they listed the RFID radio also but turns out they didn't so....

xtop did the homework to show that according to Samsung's own press release (and the Anandtech article), the Korean Samsung Galaxy S II LTE and HD LTE that are now shipping w/1.5GHz dual-cores can't be using Exynos 4212. So I agree 1.5GHz is most likely, and it'll be whatever chip is in the Korean phones.

so the t-mo or att version just went through fcc but the supposed one that is going to release first has yet to go through fcc
actually judging by the freq list it'll be one phone for both carriers/world phone.

as to your second part... the same people that said that Verizon was getting the Nexus Prime first are also the ones saying that they were going to get the GSII first and you see how well that worked out for them.

How are you guys seeing the FCC Docs? Whenever I try It tells me "you are not allowed to access this page".

Link seems to be working - maybe try another browser or something?

In any case - there's a 180 day confidentiality notice hanging on the submittal of September 23, 2011 for things like photos and a permanent confidentiality on things like schematics and so forth - pretty standard stuff.

Just some test reports, no end approval, certs, or final dates - not much there.

Yeah sucks to be on verizon they are going to be passing up another great phone lol. Like I said in my other post, T-mobile will most likely get it first like they always do and then later every other carrier. Idk how all these sites were getting at Verizon getting the thing first and exclusively.

That video was awesome nice big screen I like it! Cannot wait

Well, I'm gonna put my faith in VZ_wired, who is apparently IN THE KNOW and has assured us Verizon users that we will be "VERY HAPPY".

Verizon pulling another Bohica* on us would NOT make us "very happy".

*-Bohica: a highly technical and time-honored military acronym, standing for "bend over, here it comes again" :)

Honestly, if it wasn't for the Unlimited data stuff I would have left Vzw a long time ago. Hopefully, the rumors turn out to be true. I have (some amount of) faith in P3 and BMX.

Edit: Vz_Wired too. And i definitely want nothing to do with Bohica lol

Verizon has pulled that Bohica one too many times. If we get passed up on some lesser prime or none at all I would seriously consider jumping ship (another empty threat lol since I get unlimited data but still I'm sure everyone would be EXTREMELY unhappy)

yeah. if it wasnt for LTE and me being grandfathered into unlimited i would be rocking an epic 4g touch right now.

Your right Chief, I believe VZ_WIRED as well.
It would seem that Verizon will get the better phone of the two that will surface soon.
