Just wondering how many people use a case to protect their phone.

I use a ballistic case... When Im home or somewhere safe i go naked... Usually going anywhere i will use the base hardcase... If i know Im going out drinking or real outdoors type stuff i will throw on the rubber outer case... Very rarely will i use the beltclip as i see the beltclips on other people like i see the people that use the Bluetooth headphones.... Pretty douchey... Yes the ballistic case can be kind of bulky but as far as protection goes i have yet to see its equal with all of it formed together...

Ive met two girls with evos that said their phone was better than mine... After comparisons they said ok but i couldnt go with a phone that big.. Then i took off my case.. Needless to say they had nothing else to say except ask me if i had my charger handy because their battery was bettee about to die... Lol...

I have a body glove case that I believe saved my phones life. I was sending a text in the bathroom of a dunkin donuts when my phone flew out of my hand and landed right in the toilet... Not the urinal but the actual toilet bowl. As soon as it hit the water my hand was in after it. I immediately pulled the case off, pulled the battery, and dried it with paper towels. I thought it was done. No moisture actually got in somehow because the phone works like new. I think the case helped it somehow. This phone was all the way in the water. It wasn't very long. But it freaked me out.

And in case you are wondering I was standing next to the sink and the toilet water was clean(if toilet water can be called clean). Haha

My mom has sent quite a few phones to the porcelain god. After the rice trick they all worked, all the phones had cases too which may have helped keep some water out. But really who wants to use the toilet phone? Although that would be a good way to keep people from touching it,
Q:can I use your phone?
A:Sure but it was in the toilet. (chances are next response will be eh nevermind)

I dropped my Solstis into a bubble bath. Took several heartbeats to find the darned thing. I ended up using the rice method to dry it out and all was fine.

LOL--I had to replace the phone 2 months later when things started to flicker :)

Update: I was just keeping it naked in the house, (no protection, front pocket), but I decided that the phone deserves more respect then that, so I bought a silicone protective case, and screen guards to protect it It works great, but I cant just put my phone in a business card holder when I'm sitting at my computer as a storage bay. I've reverted to storing it in my printer paper tray and halfway closing the door when charging it, or doing data transfers.

Also, it's not as fast to draw it out of my pocket anymore, but I like the grip of the phone while it's in the case. :)

I wear tight-fitting pants, so I just couldn't stand having the size of the Infuse any larger than it already is. I tried a rubber case (I liked the way it looked), but gave up on it after about 4 days (every time I tried to get it out of my pocket, it was like a little wresting match with myself and me looking like a fool).

With that said, my bare phone looks pristine, and it's been 4 months now. I do admit I am on the side of keeping electronic items in good condition (my 1st Gen. iPod Touch looks like it came out near the 4th Gen. period), but still, I am impressed at how durable the gunmetal border around the phone is. There is a very minute nick at the bottom (I think it was from when I had one too many drinks and was trying to fit the charger mini-USB into the hole and missed a few times), but other than that, I could probably format it and sell it as a new phone.

Ironically enough though, it was funny because the first Infuse that I got from Amazon had a huge dent in the gunmetal border (the bezel for some reason was gaping away from the phone at one portion, leaving a hole where dust and other minutia was collecting). Of course, they replaced it for me, though.

Hell, YES it's in a case. I'm a dumb butterfingered barbarian, and if my phone is not armored in plastic and rubber, then I can't hang on to the blasted thing. After only 3 days of owning it, I managed to drop it on a gravel driveway. The case's screen protector is scratched to hell, but, as always, the phone is flawless.

Ballistic saves my phone again!
