I come back after 5 days away and find that SicOpat has released his XXKI3, 2.3.5, ROM. See here:-
[ROM][25/09][2.3.5][XXKI3] SicOpaT's ROM BASE ODEXED + THEMES + MODs - xda-developers
I must say that initial impressions are very good. ROM is stable and very fast. One of the benefits of being odexed I guess.
As I mentioned in another post, this is not, perhaps, the easiest ROM for novices/beginners in that it does not boast a "kitchen" and therefore any mod's you may require have to be flashed seperately, about 7 in my case.
Also, because it is odexed, you are limited to the themes available... three at the moment from SicOpat although I'm sure JKay will release more very soon.
Will run it at SetCPU, on demand, at 1600MHz, as I did KI4 which handled it very well with no problems whatsoever.
Thanks to hawker's thread, on here, I'm trying it with the Siyah 1.7.4 kernel as opposed to the Ninphetamine 2.1.3 that comes with the ROM and has performed very well for me.
Initial benchmarks with SmartBench 2011, (5235), and AnTuTu, (7020), are roughly the same as SicOpat's KI4 ROM with Ninphetamine kernel, 2.1.3.
Too early to say about battery life yet.
UPDATE
Just recharging now after 20 hours of heavy use.
Actually, 14 hours of heavy use... running numerous benchmarks, texting about 200+ (jokes), 58 min's of calls, couple of hours web browsing and general tinkering. The other 6 hours I was asleep!
All-in-all, not too shabby.
