Otterbox or Ballistic?

After doing a little bit of searching I'm not seeing an option for either of these cases for the 4G Touch.

Boggling to me considering this is about the best phone on the market at the moment.

Are there any alternatives?

Just got my casemate tough case for my epic touch...awesome case..protects it more than any other case I ve seen

Does this case add a lot of extra thickness and weight? I actually like the thinness and lightness of the phone itself, which surprises me. I tend to drop my phone or knock it to the floor constantly so looking for a case that will protect well.

Does it fit in the pocket well?

interesting. I'm sure in many perspectives your case may be better. In no way am I trying to push TPU cases. However, I do like the fact that they are ultra thin, sleek, and light. I was just suggesting it because that's what a couple of the posters (as well as myself) are interested in. In most instances, the best case is strictly in the eye of the beholder.

I have been using the otterbox for a long time but I'd thought I'd give the ballistic a try. It just came in the mail today so far the most important differences are that the otterbox has a slimmer profile and doesn't do as good as a job defending against dust. I believe that it is easier to type with the ballistic for two reasons the first is the screen protector is slightly larger then the otterbox,s and the screen seems slightly more accurate. The ballistic seems to have more protection padding as well. Both cases are good but I think I like the ballistic better.

After seeing all the news yesterday about how law enforcement agencies are abusing the emergency loophole in wireless phone tapping laws to get all kinds of information about people, I started wondering if there was a box, case or holster available for my phone that could completely block all RF from the phone while it's inside. In other words, a Faraday cage for my phone.

I know that removing the battery is the surest way to keep the bad "good guys" from snooping on my phone data, but since it takes some time to boot the phone and can be a pain to do often, I'm looking for a quick-draw solution. I own one of those steel mesh wallets so people can't query the RFID devices in my credit cards. I figure that there's got to be something similar for cellphones.

Anybody know if someone is selling something like this? I could wrap my phone in aluminum foil, but I think that would attract another kind of unwanted attention! ;)

I too was unable to find an Otterbox for my phone, so I found the TPU cover on amazon (Amazon.com: Diztronic Matte Back Black Flexible TPU Case for Sprint Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch (SPH-D710) & US Cellular Samsung Galaxy S II (SCH-R760) **ONLY FOR SPRINT & US CELLULAR MODELS** [Retail Packaging]: Cell Phones & Accessories) for a great price and I love it! If you're worried about screen protection, head over to Zagg and get yourself something to protect the screen. They are great and have a lifetime guarantee!
