Root dialer battery usage

I have Mikg 2.5.6 rom Agressive Freedom kernel.
Is there a reason and a fix for the dialer using 16 to 20% of battery useage? I read something elsewhere about turning off "mute when face-down" but I don't have that option.

I never checked the battery stats before I rooted, so I don't know if this is just the way it is or if it has something to do with being rooted.

well it all depends on how much you used your dialer. if you made 15 calls throughout the day and only used a couple more things on your phone, then ya its gonna be a decent amount of your % of battery usage. if you use your messaging to send 50 texts during the day then it gonna take up a decent amount of % of your battery. are you making a lot of calls throughout the day?

lets say i make 25 calls in a 10 hour period, send 15 messages, play a game, use the internet, most likely my phones % will be like this:

display 40%
dialer 20 %
internet 18%
phone idle 12%
game 5%
htc sense 4%
wifi 2%
etc, etc, etc....

or you could try wiping cache and dalvik and see what that does.....or i may be completely wrong...;-)

display 45
voice 19
dialer 15
cell standby 7
phone idle 6
android system 3
mobi.mgeek browser 2
wifi 2
beyond pod 2

if thats all the %'s, you probably could have made 1 call it would have been 10%, its not draining your battery extensively is it?

i would say give it a couple of days and see what happens. like i said your battery usage has to show something. when i dont use my phone at all almost all day, there is almost nothing on the list and the smallest thing that you did during the day will have the largest %, ya know....

also if you add up all the %'s it will be 100, like i said whatever you did during the day it will have to issue a % to it just so happens that 15% was what those 2 phone calls equaled i guess....

Actually I am happy with the battery life. I'm getting a day, so it does not seem to be an excessive drain. I'm new on this rom/kernel since the week-end and battery life seems to be improving each day. I'm just surprised to see the dialer at 15 percent (like in the morning with no calls). It's kind of curious. just wondering why.

There has been a long standing issue with the phone not sleeping once you make a call or use gps. What are your awake and up times?

I'm not completely familiar with the issue (I'm hoping someone else can step in on that front) but most of the time the remedy seems to be downgrading the prl and nv.
