Prime vs Vigor vs Spyder/RAZR

I must say though, I would be lying if I said I wasn't a bit excited about Moto's event next week. The Spyder/RAZR/Droid HD has been of interest to me ever since it was pictured next to the Bionic.

And for those of you still complaining about Blur, you have obviously not seen the latest version running on devices like the D3 and Bionic. It's pretty much out of the way now, so that wouldn't deter me from buying a Moto phone.

I actually saw new Blur on D3 and Bionic. It looks better than older Motoblur, feels smoother. But it's still taking up some memory and somewhat slowing down performance of OMAP4. LG Thrill using the same OMAP4 as Bionic gets quite better benchmark scores, feels smoother.

I think Samsung's new Touchwiz 4.0 in SGS2 is the best performing custom UI. Look at new T-mobile SGS2 using the same S3 dual snapdragon as HTC amaze. It gets nearly 1000 better quadrant score than Amaze with Sense.

First thing I always did after buying one was wipe it clean.
Same here after buying a new computer I would wipe it clean and remove all the junk I didn't want.
Hey look, it comes with Maddon preinstalled! Cool, check out CityID, that's awesome.

Dude I know CityID is the shit! One of the most awesome apps my Droid Incredible came with that I never used or wanted. HaHa

There's some interesting devices in the pipeline for sure.

However, based on what we know so far, the Nexus Prime is the only one that has a strong chance of being a vanilla Android handset. However, we have to remember, the Nexus phones are for us, the "nerds" of the Android community. The Nexus has never been a big seller, because the general public likes UI overlays like Sense, TouchWiz, etc. They don't care if it takes Samsung 6 months to update to the latest version on their phone because of TouchWiz, only we care about that. The original Droid was the exception.

I think my wife will end up with the Vigor. She wants to upgrade to the TB now, but I told her to hold off until we see what it's replacement will be like. For me, although I'm leaning heavily in favor of the Prime, it might end up coming down to choosing between the Prime and the RAZR(or whatever).

Yuppp...I must say, I have zero problems at all with the new version of Blur on the Bionic! Slick UI and smooth as butter...

I really don't see a contest between the 2 of these phone at all! The Razr/Spyder will be hyped to no extant and be the consumer darling of vzw going into the Holidays . The Prime will be for tech junkies, people like us, so don't expect a ton of marketing and Hype.

However, are we still blaming Steves death for the cancellation of the Samsung unpacked event? I really doubted at this point! Steves Funeral was Friday, the event was being held today (Tuesday) at CTIA, and the event as a whole is still going on!

My guess would be either...

1-ICS is not ready for Prime Time yet!

2- Samsungs event was littered with smack directed at Apple and the iphone! Which if it was, Samsung could have toned it down and concentrated on just talking about the Prime, and not talking smack!

3- VZW wants the Razr/Spyder announced First! Which as it turns out a Moto/Vzw event has been slatted to take place in NYC next week.

Anyones guess at this point.

#'s 1 and 2 could be possible but Verizon has no say at all in how or when the Prime gets announced, they hate it but they want that big Google device they know will sell so #3 isn't a possibility.

It is amazing how many people say the same thing about their Incredibles. It must be a helluva device. Perhaps HTC's blip with TB was an anomaly.

I absolutely love my DInc. The only thing I ever wished was different was a little more internal memory (it was average for when it was released though) and a little bit bigger screen. I love the build quality in HTC and if a device must come with a stupid manufacturer layover I would go with HTC Sense over all. The TB was their first LTE phone so they didn't know what to expect and they had timeline they needed to get it out by or else it would have just been scraped. The TB is still a good device, just didn't take to some of the new things that were just coming to phones. In the end I only want the Nexus Prime for VZW is because its stock Android which will be nice and Google supported rather than VZW supported, has more internal memory (one of my downsides listed for DInc), it has a bit bigger screen (other downside I thought of the DInc), and because I want something new I'm a tech junkie I crave the newest, nicest device.
