***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I'm just so happy that we, as Android users, have many more choices than just 1 phone. If you don't like the Galaxy Nexus, there's the Razr, Vigor, Note (next year), etc. Much better than Apple.
No you're not. You hate Android fragmentation and think there shouldn't be so much variation among the manufacturers that only confuses users and causes compatibility headaches for app developers.

Or was that only yesterday's Han? :p

I sure hope that Costco gets this phone in November. I have a Charge that I'm planning to return via the 90-day return/exchange policy (which I confirmed with my local Costco) and my 90 days will be up at the end of November.

Does Costco usually get phones pretty soon after they are released?

Not a Costco member, so I don't know much, but I know from following the Bionic's release that they got it (and their accessory pack) on release day.

You know it's hard to get absolute answers on the whole Costco thing. Anybody really know the skinny on this? Have up to 3 months to get a replacement or a different model phone altogether? Also read they offer a free extended warranty on phones, that true? I've thought about this route but never seriously explored the ins/outs.

I called the customer service number and this is what I was told: You have 90 days to return the phone (in "like new" condition) and exchange it for any other phone on that carrier. You simply have to pay the price difference (if any) based on the "2-year contract price."

Could you keep doing that every 90 days?

Here's the deal as I understand it. You have 90 day Costco return, but Verizon has a 14 day return policy. You can return it to Costco and get your money back, but you've burned up your upgrade.

I remember this being discussed very specifically, and coming from a Costco store manager.

I hope you'll be able to do it, but that was not my understanding. I'll see if I can find the exact quote.

I had read this and I had also read that you can exchange for a different phone within 90 days. That's why I decided to check for myself by calling the customer service number. Now it's possible he gave me bogus information, but I clarified it with him like three times (the guy probably thought I was a little slow). He said you can exchange it out for a different phone entirely within 90 days and if the price of the new phone is the same price as the old one, there's zero cost to do the exchange.

I guess I won't know for sure until I try it myself. He did tell me that since I purchased it in the store and not online that I would have to make the exchange at the store I purchased it from.

Found it. Sounds like it depends on the mood of the Costco reps.

Officially, we're supposed to tell you that after 14 days we're allowed to exchange that for the same exact model. It's what I tell customers, as it is our "rule", and it's also just good business ethics. Will we give you a diff model if you're not happy with what you have? Absolutely. But we do try to discourage that.

Hell, I did it just the other day. But truly, it's going to be up to your WSE (Wireless Sales Expert, I love saying that) and the KM (Kiosk Manager). So while most will, some will not. Just verify that when you purchase a phone, it's usually not a prob.

Guys,

I dropped the ball. No more google music invites here. Take it to the other thread, mentioned above. It didn't dawn on me to say that before. Sorry.

Yes, I know I run the risk of being a suck up but...This thread has been moderated to perfection. No joke. :)

Sorry to hear you won't be viewing live. It will be even more rewarding to view it after a long day at work though. Also - love the movie reference. Great film.

Good evening, Nexlings. I trust you're all having a simply wonderful time.

I must admit I was quite excited to see the Galaxy Nexus appear on the Verizon internal database, as reported by the fine men and women at Droid-Life including Kellex, who also makes wonderful tampon products, if I'm not mistaken.

Unfortunately, I am in quite a conundrum. On Tuesday next, the same day as the announcement, I shall be working quite late. Quite late indeed, in preparation for a trial I shall be participating in on the following morning. I shan't bore you with the details, friends, but suffice to say I may in fact be locked in a room full of lawyers and witnesses, taking depositions into the late hours of the night. I'm sure you will be shocked to know that such meetings have dragged on until almost midnight on several occasions!

Needless to say I am quite distressed in view of the fact that, while you fine ladies and gentlemen shall be greedily and sloppily devouring the Hong Kong event live via Youtube stream, I very well might be unable to share in your delight until much later.

This grieves me sorely.
