KIES keeps saying 2.3.3 is the latest version

Hi everyone!

I had some problems with Kies not recognizing my Galaxy S for a while. But after doing lots of reasearching and trying lots of small things I read in tutorials and people with the same problem, I finally solved my problem.
But there's another problem now:

Kies keeps telling me that my phone has the latest version and there's no new firmware updates to be done at the moment.
I have the Unlocked Galaxy S (UK version) and it's currently running Gingerbread 2.3.3 still.
I've heard some news that 2.3.4 or even 2.4.5 is already available. But why my Kies is not following those firmware upgrades?

I will appreciate any kind of help!!

Thanks a lot!

But ... what are we supposed to now?
I've heard that Gingerbread 2.3.4. is already available to UK users, but my Kies keeps telling me that I have the latest version, BUT I am still stuck on 2.3.3 ..... is only there was a button like ... "check for firmware updates" ... but Kies has everything to make it complicated !
Please if you find any solution, let me know!!

Or .... anyone out there!!!!!!!! Please help us!!!!!

Have you tried OTA update (over tyhe air).. go into settings> about phone> software update> check for update.. (thats on the basis your mobile phone company have released firmware update..
If you realy want to upgarde just flash using odin

:)

Hey Rash! I really want thank your for your reply. I didn't know that we could check updates on the phone!
Everyone just keeps talking about Kies so ... I've never thought there was another was to check it!
And I did it as you mentioned ... but ... unfortunately .. no updates for my phone yet =(
But now I am happy I can check it on the phone instead of plugging it and trying that difficult Kies!!

Thanks a lot, you really helped me! :)
