well i extracted the browser apk from a 2.3.7 ASOP rom to replace the stock one and it didnt work....not only did it not work i lost my browser too I went about using the same method that was described when updating the market to 3.1.6. Then I thought that maybe it was due to the fact that it was an ASOP browser as oppose to a Sense browser from 2.3.5 so i extracted that one too and tried to install it but to no avail so im going to recover it and try to install the Sense 2.3.5 version

but its interesting that i was never able to update my market to 3.1.6 or to the ICS leak 3.2.0 using this method i was only able to get 3.1.6 when I got a flashable version of the market

so im wondering if anyone know how to convert an app to a flash version ?

all the stuff that i've come across on the subject seems to point towards dissecting an existing zip and replace apk... HERE is an xda thread that might help..

what is the recommended kernel for 2.56, im hearing freedom kernel but aggressive is better? also if so nightly, godmode or universal

You'll want the universal version. Make a nan backup then give them a shot. My phone doesn't like the Aggressive, I used the More Freedom one.

also keep in mind that kernels will vary from phone to phone. what works for you may not work for me. so the best thing really is to just make a nandroid backup and flash a kernel. my phone like the aggressive freedom kernel. give it a few days to let things settle before deciding to move on.

Anyway to change the landscape on mikg 2.56 would love my home screen to rotate and app drawer or whatever it's called to rotate also.... Sorry guys I'm a noob here and am seriously addicted to flashing and trying whatever....

you see the fix to go to gingerbread rooting thread and dl the su file there?

wipe cache and d cache and flash it and you should be good to go! I had to do it too!

it depends on what recovery you have. if you have amon ra then under other select fix uid mismatches and under advanced in clockwork mod select fix permissions.

well i did try to fix the uid. didnt work at all. had to flash his back to 2.56

I just checked my SU on 2.57 and its crashing. I'm going to try flashing the older version and see what happens.
