Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

is mms supposed to be working on cm7 now or no? I'm a little confused, i thought it wasn't but I don't see it on the not working list. Out going mms are not working for my phone currently. If not, then i'll continue to patiently wait, but i wasn't sure if it has already been fixed and it's just my phone and i should be looking into fixing it or not.

It was recently fixed for muiu, i don't know if that fix can be applied to cm7 or not? i know some of the fixes have been able to be applied in both directions.

It's been fixed for quite a while

Tg: There is very little reason for me to put a large amount of effort into that; I do, however, review the commits related to the phone and pull those that matter. For instance, the USB tethering fix actually came out of CM7's commit chain.

Right now there is a serious problem with pulling and building a "base" copy from my manifest list. I don't know exactly why right now and am looking into it, but this poses extreme danger should I pull a full resync against the upstream, as it could leave me with an unholy mess that could take a very long time to sort out. I'll do it eventually, but everyone pestering me just because they want a silly revision number change is rather foolish - and that's being polite.

Apologies.. didn't mean to offend. Thank you for the work you've done and deff don't want you losing all the work you've done.

huh. i can receive but i can't send mms messages. does anyone have any idea's on what to check or try to fix it? it's been this way for the last few cm7 updates that i have tried, and i wipe inbetween each one.

My mms works fine, although at random times it wont send, like once in a blue moon, but i had that problem on stock and once on cm7, i think it just might be vm

I got the code done to pull the PRL out of the radio for "real", and got a surprise.

If you're updating PRLs from CM7 they're not really being updated. Surprise!

Not the sort you want either. I'm flashing back to stock to play with this under QPST, but it appears that while the tool SAYS it wrote the PRL under CM7, it in fact did not.

So, if you want to flash PRLs, flash back to stock first. The next code release will have the proper PRL (from the radio) pulled down into the status display. This was a royal BITCH to get to work, incidentally.

tTorrent may be running the phone out of memory. If it's a foreground app it won't get killed either until it destabilizes things to the point they go boom.

Get one of the network monitors and watch it in real time to see what its working set size looks like and how your free RAM is holdig up.

Samething happens with adownloader. I think torrent programs are one of the problems with the leaked memory.

Does somebody have a mirror download link for beta 3? I'm on my laptop, and I just tried 3 different browsers (IE10, Firefox, and Chrome) and none of them let me download the latest release... I haven't tried it yet on my phone but I shudder at the thought of downloading this on 1XrTT at my house... 0.o thanks...
got it, thanks guys! it was really strange... Tickerguy, you might want to check to see if there's anything wrong with your upload... maybe it's just my fantastic 512 kbs internet though...

Today I got tons of restarts. It basically happened when i have my bluetooth A2DP headset paired and playing songs and i used Google Maps Naviation with GPS. This combination has caused restarts for me before. I wish it force closed a few apps instead of just freezing up and restarting. Sometimes i get the restarts with the camera taking pics too (also happened with stock Froyo).

I have a idea could it be that the memory leak or the bug is in the drivers which you are using from Froyo, because this type of restarts happened on stock Froyo too for me.

ok so i'm posting this in both the MIUI thread and here because this is useful to everyone that is running a custom ROM and has ClockWork Mod installed on their phone. I ran across an article of a fairly new app that is available that allows restoring apps backed up in your nandroid backup while using your phone instead of having to restore through recovery mode or use titanium backup. the link is here https://market.android.com/details?id=com.handyandy.appextractor seems pretty sweet because you can even restore you SMS and MMS through it.

My phone has been off the charger for 74 hours, and still has a 9% charge. Granted, I only used it Friday night and Saturday morning until it had about 60% left, then last night used it as a flashlight to look outside for a minute during a storm because I heard a tree limb cracking (we have big trees around my house...) and the rest of the time it's been sitting untouched, but still. I just wanted to post this since I'm in a state of disbelief, especially after reading all the battery life issues people have been having.

Also, I'm in a low signal area.

After three reboots using os monitor
tTorrent running did bring the cpu to as high as 74% near startup
however, it does not appear to be a memory leak
the memory never dropped below 120 mb
the cpu did average about 47% total(system and apps)
i did not monitor the temp, which is possible i guess
will check that next, but the phone didn't feel warm at all
and that was on 3g not wifi
also the longest it took to get the reboot was 32 minutes

So will you just provide the stock PRL? Just wondering if by chance you would provide a modified PRL in the ROM itself or not. I guess that may be difficult as it seems some the PRL's are better for some, not so for others, it seems to depend on your location.

The PRL is contained in the radio - flashing the ROM does not change it, so there's nothing to provide.

The "1115" was a spoofed value from the build.prop, not the actual PRL (as noted in the notes up top.) I've managed to fix this in the code and now can get the actual PRL for the status screen. Having "A" PRL loaded in the system (or at least the code thinking it has the number) is important as without it either (1) data won't come up at all or (2) if it does the carrier name won't be recognized as the ERI file won't load without it.

So basically in the next release (and forward) the "real" PRL number will be pulled from the radio and displayed, but it has always been there in the radio, and has always been used. I just short-circuited the process of grabbing it as there's a conflict in the RIL between two different versions I have access to - one says the "PRL changed" flag is one specific upcall code, the other says it's a different one. What I decided to do is instead to add a synchronous call for the PRL into the RIL whenever the radio status changes, which is technically wrong but avoids trying to guess which is (or was) the correct async notification.

Just be careful trying to update the PRL, as if you do it from CM7 it will appear to work but in fact doesn't - you have to flash back to stock if you want to update the PRL in the radio as under CM7 despite claiming that the update was successful in QPST it doesn't actually change anything.

TG: thank you for your work.
Despite the fact this rom is far supperior than stock, I regretfully downgraded to stock.
Sleepy Wifi proved to be a major bug 'problem for me'. Any other bug i could live with, but not getting important emails on time did it.
I hope the driver can eventually be fixed or changed.

Thank you so much.
This problem is probably similar to the fun I ran into with the proximity sensor, where there is an undocumented call somewhere in the Wifi driver code (the libra.ko file); unless I can find a hook for it somewhere I've got little chance of being able to fix it.

One of the big problems with this is that the hang is an actual hang, almost-certainly at the kernel level, so I can't get a backtrace on it when it happens and figure out what routine it's in when it locks up. Nor can I manage to get it to happen when it's plugged into USB where I have trace capability, which really sucks.

From my experience the SMS and the MMS (like picture and audio) works perfect. It's the SMS converted into MMS (due to the text being too long) that i have had issues with. I've sent a few out but the person never got them. So in messaging settings I checked "SMS split" and also "Split counter" (just in case) and they received it right away.

Seems like there's still a little problem with MMS texts to me

MMS has been fine both directions for a long time. I've not seen any other reports and I use it literally on a daily basis.

I've been using this ROM since beta and have noticed a little problem with Messaging.

I've been testing this by just testing myself. When in messaging settings I have "Split SMS" unchecked and I'm writing a pretty long text (supposedly it converts into a MMS, at least stock ROM did and actually popped a message balloon saying that) it does not send through, although on the bottom of the text it says Sent. I go and check "Split SMS" in settings, copy and paste that same message and I receive it within seconds (in multiple texts of course).

Also when "SMS split" is unchecked there's still a counter going under Send button like it's splitting your message.

Maybe you and some others could see if they're getting the same result.

Over all its an awesome ROM you got here! Thanks :)

AFAIK it won't convert into an MMS. That's what the split is for. I don't see that as a problem at all.

Not a big problem but still a problem. If half of it doesn't work why is that an option at all? And if someone has that option unchecked and doesn't know that the feature of sending just one nice MMS instead of bunch of split SMS doesn't work, sends out a long text and doesn't hear anything back cause the recipient never got their message then they might think there's a problem.
