How many people with a Nexus S are having problems with scratched screens?

I believe I read somewhere that Corning couldn't manage to adapt their glass to provide the curve on the screen. Remember Gorilla glass is just a particular brand of fortified glass. For example Corning also make pyrex. Galaxy Nexus will definitely have some kind of fortified glass.

I don't know the link to it, but a Samsung rep did say on twitter that it wouldn't have gorilla glass, but that it would have fortified glass, whatever that means.

I just meant the screen protectors. I always make the reps put one on. That is the only thing I let them touch on my phone.

I might go that route. If there are bubbles on it, they'll have to reapply or eat the cost of another one. I already know I suck at doing it, and my wife does too, although it doesn't bother her to have a stray bubble or crumb underneath the screen protector.

Guys.... Gorilla Glass is a BRAND NAME. They might not be using "Gorilla Glass" (the brand) but I bet you it will have another high strength glass.

Just like how Kleenex = Tissue

Yes, and back a few pages ago I posted something about a Samsung rep on facebook claiming that it is NOT Gorilla Glass, but it is a type of fortified glass(just not Corning).

Edit: here it is:

Minor update: the SGN does NOT use Gorilla glass. They opted for another type of "fortified" glass.

Does the Galaxy... | Facebook

I know it doesn't have the Verizon 4GLTE logo, but I'm wondering if it is the LTE version that they have photographed? It looks "fatter" than what we saw on launch day.

Considering these videos and pictures were taken in Russia, it's highly unlikely they had the Verizon LTE version. This is based on the street signs and billboards I could see.

Woah, it's not every day I post something on Reddit to then come read my exact words somewhere else. It's kind of freaky.

Screen protector is necessary. Anybody who thinks otherwise will, eventually, get pleasantly surprised that they have stuff in their pockets that is harder than gorilla glass (no innuendo please).

Also, my home made NY style > 99% of pizzas (I'm a bit of a pizza enthusiast :) )

Made me actually LOL at this.

Plus the reps in my area are pretty good at it and have an air canister like used to get rid of computer dust that they use to get rid of any dust on the screen.

When I'm not in hype-mode over a phone, I actually lead a very active life, mostly outdoors, during the whole year. My pockets have been know to be littered with sand, volcanic rocks, hooks, etc. So yeah, I'll probably be getting a screen protector. But I just hope that it doesn't decrease the touch sensitivity (no innuendo please).

Also, Giordano's pizza > than 100% of pizzas, I don't care if it's NY or Italy. Go on their website, have a half-baked frozen one delivered to you, and you'll see what I'm talking about. You will arrange trips to Chicago just for the pizza. You will come here with no clothes and empty suitcases so that you can stuff them full of pizzas. You will cry when you run out of them, sitting in NY munching on your Sbarros pizza.

Or buy in store and make the verizon people put one on:D
When I used to use protection :D The VZW rep bragged about how good she was at putting screen guards on so I let her have a go at it. BIG MISTAKE!!!

I looked at the bubbles and dust and then I asked "Are you really going to charge me for that?"

I don't know of any NY'er that likes Sbarros pizza. Its the little pizza places in NY that make amazing pizza.

Go to Denino's in Staten Island and then tell me Chicago pizza is better.

Either way..highly contemplating taking the day off to go grab it, but if its November 3rd, I'd like VZW to go ahead and announce it. It's putting a cramp on my schedule :D

You never know, but I really can't see this being true... I think its more wishful thinking and someone grab street cred by predicating the correct date then anything else.

VZW has been pushing the RAZR hard, I really can't see them pulling a 180 and releasing the GN first.

Sorry bro, I did steal some of your wording shamelessly. :( Only cause you were right on the money.

No worries high fives all around. I just had a bit of deja vu and it made me do a double take. For some reason I started to question if I was the one who originally made the comment.

Ninja edit: I bet if it was revealed that it was dragontrail glass no one would be complaining.

I'm just kidding about the Sbarro's. I was just annoyed to see 10 of them in each block at Times Square. I have tried "authentic" NY pizza, and it's not pukey garbage, but doesn't hold a candle to Chicago stuffed pizza. Simple fact, seriously, you can look it up.

Deep Dish Pizza is a sin.

If you're referring to pizza that has a 2 inch thick bread crust with a smattering of sauce on top, then you're right.

If you're referring to stuffed pizza, then get out.

;):p:D:)

No, but seriously.

Actually, what works the best is if you go into the bathroom, shut the door, (yes, I'm being serious, this isn't some quasi-porn thing), turn the hot water from your shower on at full blast for about 2 minutes (before everything gets steamy), and put the cover on then. All the dust particles will have been pushed down to the ground by the moisture in the steaming process and you'll have a clean screen. Whether you want to strip down and dance to an African tribal drum beat and juggle your phone afterwards is up to you.

And that's the point where you trip the moisture sensor on a lot of these newer phone/battery indicators.

No joke - I've had others here on the forums get denied returns when the closest they've gotten their phone to water is as a music player in the bathroom. Multiple times.
