Root Question about launchers

Most AOSP roms seem to come with ADW preinstalled in the system/apps folder. If I want to run a different launcher, can I just remove the one from the system/apps folder and replace it with a launcher of my choice or do I have to just run my launcher as a normal app, thus having two running launchers at the same time. Does switching the launcher out of the system/app folder break the rom? I'd rather only have one launcher, of course. I'm currently running DT's BlackSource if that helps.

After you download it from the market, open your launcher and it should give you some setup options straight off and more through the "Menu" button. You may can also go to the Developer's web site to get information on setting it up there also.

From personal experience, it can be a PITA to set up a different one but it gives you the ability to custonize your phone that we all enjoy. :D

They dont run at the same time though. Sense always runs stuff not ASOP Adw. I have yet to catch the system adw launcher running in conjunction with ADW Ex I use at the same time. It does occupy a few mb but I just leave it alone. matter of fact at one point or another I've kept several launchers on board for kicks. the non default never runs in background or anywhere else.

How do you like spd shell 3d, is it worth the 15 bucks?

To each their own I like the launcher itself it is smooth and clean IMO I wish they had a free trial so you could test it out

To add to what Yeahha stated, most think that SPB is just all eye candy. I disagree. It runs smooth with some great features. What keeps me on SPB is the folders. I have tried and tried and tried to find a replacement folder widget as good while on sense 3.5 and could not find one. I do think that it is overpriced a bit but I love it none the less. I just think that at the price point it's at now keeps many away from it.

Yeah the folders are great, I would like them to implement some things like resizeable Widgets and custom numbers of rows on the home screen.

I think I will go ahead and bite the bullet and try it out. It will run on CM 7.1 ok correct?
