Root [ROM][PORT][FINAL] MIUI 1.11.25-Triumph | 113011-2 (GB 2.3.7 based)

Ive been using it as well, no lockups and definitely the best fix at the moment...

Did this without advanced wifi and constant freezes/reboots. Installed the program last night and no problems at all. Phone woke up this morning and worked all day today without locking up once.

With this information tickerguy might be able to isolate the actual problem with the rom.

It's not a matter of Moto releasing any source. Like I said, the MIUI source is not available. Besides the already known WIFI lock problem, I don't have any of the other issues you described.

EDIT: I have had a random reboot on the stock ROM caused by the phone not having a signal.

Like Issac I have been having major reboot issues but I also work in a building which limits cell phone service for the most part. If I had Verizon I would be OK since there is a repeater on the building, however I am not willing to shell out the money. I am going back to CM7 to see if I encounter the same issues.

TG fixed WIFI lock-ups, so that will be in the next build (along with native USB tethering). Maintaining MIUI has become a pain in the ass considering they release a new build *every* Friday. I don't have the time to keep migrating all the stuff I did to each new build and I'm tired of messing with a ROM with no source  (that makes me less trusting of MIUI as well). For these reasons, I'm going to stop devoting time to MIUI. :(

However, since CM7 is making tremendous progress, I'd like to return back to that project. CM is the best place for me to develop my programming skills (even if I won't ever need them). Unfortunately, smali coding is pretty pointless, IMO.

I've already started work on HDMI and when I find time for it, that's what I want to focus my attention on. If and when HDMI and/or other problems are fixed in CM7, I will try to find time to backport those fixes to MIUI.

In the end, I'm glad that I was able to bring the elusive MIUI to the Triumph. If Xiaomi ever realizes how selfish they are and gives back to the community, you bet your ass I'll be all over that source.

EDIT: WIFI fix seems to be working well. I haven't had any problems.

EDIT2: Proximity sensor seems okay as well. I didn't have any problems with this after the 10/23 build, but it seems it's still working.

i heard the MIUI source will be released when the official MIUI phone is out

Yeah, that's been awhile now.

MIUI Xiaomi MI-One Phone Now Shipping | Android Community

I don't expect them to release it. I heard they had an angel investor gave them a wad of cash to work on MIUI. Then, they were planning on selling the rights to some big name phone manufacturers. It wouldn't be in their best interest to release the MIUI source code.

Isaac, maybe you can just stop updating the weekly miui releases and just add fixes to one "final" release

The problem with that is things *are* getting fixed (on the MIUI side) with every new Friday release. These are all building up to a new stable MIUI release. If I don't make a conscious effort to keep bumping the Triumph up, then we fall way to far behind and it's hard to catch back up.

If MIUI released a stable release right now, then it wouldn't be a problem. But they're still in developmental stage.

EDIT: Either way, my problem with MIUI is the lack of source.

EDIT2: I'd like to get the Triumph bumped up to 2.3.7 MIUI at least. There was a nice little update to the Gallery that I want.

Well, I must say, you have had a huge impact on this phone. I bought it the first day it was available and was very happy at first. Then started to get very frustrated with all the issues it had (the unresponsive touch screen was the main gripe for me). Since finding your port of Miui, I am once again excited about this phone. If you stay with it long enough to get wifi fixed and the new gallery update you mentioned, I for one will be very satisfied and appreciative. A big "Thank you" is in order. I will most certainly contribute to your beer fund in the next week or two.

Thanks!

@ TickerGuy: I love MIUI (didn't think I would). Thanks for all the hard work on this, and working HDMI on CM7 would be awesome!

you do realize that MIUI was brought to us by Isaac.... not TickerGuy. I mean yes Ticker had a huge impact on this because of his constant work on CM7 which proved to be compatible in a lot of ways with the MIUI build code, but it was Isaac who brought this to us, and yes he is amazing at what he does!

LOL, there are some strange comments in the last few posts...

Alright, I'll make a deal with you guys. I'll keep going with MIUI until I'm absolutely positive that I've hit a wall and cannot get over it. TBH, I'm pretty much in love with MIUI and I've been using it as a daily since I got my hands on the X6/Mi-410 release (1.9.9, I think). After I slept on it last night, I'd be sad to see this project go by the wayside. MIUI is really one of the only true alternatives to the stock experience.

I'm hoping that Xiaomi will release a dev snapshot ("stable") so that way I can just maintain one particular version.

Either way, this weekend I'll be getting my lappytop back in order and I'll put out a new release with all the fixes I promised. I'm also going to try and base it on the upcoming 1.10.28 release.

Happy MIUI-ing, guys.

Maybe he shouldn't. I also agree that Isaac should try to get some sleep too, but if he wants to do it, why not? What can go wrong?

Not to be offensive or anything, but your comment reminds me of the people that stick to Windows 95.

Just switched to MIUI from CM7 and wow, this is nice. I hate the iOS theme but man is this ROM responsive! Very impressed!

You can change the theme quite easily. My customized theme is COMPLETELY different from iOS, just mess with the advanced theme settings until you have the perfect match. I recommend getting 5 or 6 themes for MIUI, then going into the theme manager, and hand-picking each element of the themes that you like most. In the end, you'll end up with your own custom theme, and MIUI will look awesome.

Hahaha, I must have been tired when I posted that, as I meant to direct it to Isaac. Thanks for pointing that out!

@Isaac: Thanks for all of the hard work!

just get a new launcher...
Ya, I restored my default Launcher, GoLauncher, and it's running fine. Love all of the theme options though I"m having an issue with it Waking Up where it takes a long time to get to the lock screen. Also, with all of my apps installed I had about 100mg left of free space on the phone.....with CM7, I had over 300. Fixed it by moving apps over 20mb to the SD card, but still something that I noticed. I assume it's because it's so theme heavy. Loving this!!

Your previous post made bummed me out hardcore... This one however makes me very happy! Thanks Isaac

Wow, what a shock it was after installing, to see an iPhone clone with the homescreens! I like the clean GUI of the iPhone, but I got Android for a change! :) No App drawer, and no ability to put the same app icon in different folders was a disappointment. That's a step backwards for MIUI, IMHO.

But the GUI of everything is so sexy!! I was "hoping" to not have to use a 3rd party launcher, but it looks like I'll be installing Go Launcher EX to get the powerful functionality that i'm used to.

Anyway, I think MIUI with Go Launcher will be a killer combo. :)
