Help Video Chat via Skype?

Skype just announced that they new support video chat with more devices.

Skype - The Big Blog - Skype 2.1 for Android enables video on majority of Android devices

Anybody trying this out? Get this to work? What setup are you using?

I tried Skype on Flashback Honeycomb and VeganTab for 1.2 bootloader with no luck. Will try Brilliant Corners soon.

Hey I'm new to the site, and to the android and rooting and all that really! As for skype, i can't speak for all versions, but i was running STOCK 1.2 and i couldn't even sign in, kept getting stuck in a loop after i entered user name and password. so here's a related, anyone have a working Video chat (cross platform?)

I have skype on my gtab (running FB7.2) and am able to do voice calls, but not video.

I got FB 8.1 and cant do anything with Skype, just log in.

Skype released an update today (version 2.5) that supposedly brings video chat to Honeycomb tablets. Obviously the gTab is not on the official list, but it might be worth grabbing the update and seeing if it works anyway.

Skype works with video on the Clemsyn and Calkulin v8 Rom. I've tested it so I know it works.

C&C is the only ROM where Skype works with video on the Gtab to the best of my knowledge.

I've found this to be true as well after trying out a few others. This ROM is crazy fast too (has overclocking), but I've found that a few apps I use a lot (Tweetdeck and Springpad among others) don't show up in the Market with this ROM, so I switched off of it.

I don't know what is with the Market and the C&C Rom. Zeam Launcher and other launchers do not show up in the Market, and I'm almost certain that they will work. Have you tried to download those apps from somewhere else besides the Android Market?

I'm testing Vegan Tab 7.1 this week. Although I love it (it's my favorite ROM), I'm probably going to go back to the C&C ROM because I need the ability to make video calls, and hardware acceleration isn't bad either. What's the use of installing a ROM if it can't make full use of the hardware?

Nah, I just went back to a different ROM. Skype is less important to me than other apps. I also don't need the camera, so I'm pretty happy with Honeycomb.
