Well, I guess this is where I say good-bye.

I signed up to be notified when HP got more Touchpads in. Today I found out that they aren't getting any in at all. So I guess this means I won't be getting one. And since I am not getting one, I have no more purpose on this board.

I was very excited about the possibility of using Android on a TouchPad, but apparently that's not going to happen now.

I am pretty upset about what happened with HP, but I'd be even more upset if I didn't already own an iPad 2.

So long, all...

It's not so much that it's out of my budget, but the main reason I wanted one is because they were so dirt cheap. I suppose $245 for the 32GB is still cheap, but not worthwhile IMO. If I didn't already own an iPad, I'd probably pay $245 for the 32GB though.

I just can't believe that after waiting all this time, they send out an email saying they are out of stock and won't be getting any more. If they weren't sure that they'd be getting more, then they shouldn't have posted the announcement on their web site saying that more would be available in the coming weeks and months. If I had known that wasn't true, I would have been searching elsewhere for one all this time.

I just sold my 32 GB for $210. That was all I could get from it from several sources and that's basically LNIB condition. Ultimately, it was the lack of apps that killed it for me. There are so many things that HP hit way, way out of the park on the device though.

- account integration is the best of any device I've seen
- very easy to get root level access and HP supports this
- easy to fix if it's bricked. An update bricked my TP. The screen displayed an error message as well as a web site. You go to the website and it has a program you download to your computer and run. I've never seen another bricked device that made it this easy to fix.
