Hey, probably most of us have this issue when recording in low light conditions, video is scrappy while trying to focus.

Putting exposure to -2 seems to fix this, but still, it's not what we want.

Are there any solutions I missed ? I see this problem is not discussed often.

Not 100% on what you are asking for. Are you saying the video will drop frames and stutter or are you commenting on the slower auto-focus in low-light conditions?

If the first, are you playing these videos back on the Phone itself or on a computer after transferring the file? If the later, there isn't going to be much that can help it focus any faster because it needs time to differentiate between the subject and background elements that share similar levels of illumination. The only way to help would be bumping up the exposure levels like you have done, increasing ISO or using a light source.

Wow, that's pretty intense. Never noticed it myself but i've always had a decent light source. I will have a go now and see what happens.

EDIT: Took two videos, one starting in pitch black and turning the light on, the other doing a panning shot with the light on (but still in a dimly lit room). Aside from the increased movement blur and ISO grain that low-light conditions bring, i didn't see any dropped frames or stuttering. Auto-focus was a bit slow as expected but nothing else was noticeably out of the ordinary. I'm glad i don't have the problem because it would really get on my nerves, i feel pretty bad for everyone which has this. :(

Same camera here. Maybe i'm a lucky one but it's more likely something else is causing this to happen. Be interesting to know what others are experiencing but nobody else has replied (yet).

Take a look at this thread. The Poll shows that 16 out of 19 have this problem. Try to make a video in low light with small table lamp on, and try to wave the camera around.

In daylight outdoors my video is just perfect.

maybe that's the issue. Many people agree, that it could be firmware issue and probably be solved via next updates. Let's hope so.

I won't go and replace it, cause otherwise my phone works great.

By The Way.

try to press on PHONE TO CAM FW Write - what happens ?

I got: INVALID VERSION
