Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

LOL! i was sold too! i went to that web page, and i didnt even finish reading his post. (i got to $ and click on the link)

No I am not an advertiser. I just saw a post on it the other day (just Google it). I left my email on their web site to see what it is all about. One never knows!

I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to both Issac and Tickerguy for all they have done with this ROM (and the MIUI one). I haven't yet tried either of them out, but plan on doing so very soon! I am sure it will make a great improvement over what Motorola half-baked into our original Triumph! I really hope Motorola fixes the GPS (if it is even fixable).

No harsh feelings, I was just joking :D
Yeah, try out MIUI or CM7. For me, these fixed GPS; I wasn't getting a lock before, and now I do in 10 seconds to 2 minutes depending where I am.

Small Business Cell Phone Plans | T-Mobile

1000 minutes is $40, unlimited data and text, or $25 with no data.

It's a SMOKING deal if you can pass credit (it is a business plan; an LLC is ok but I don't know if they'll allow sole proprietors or not.)

$40, plus taxes and fee's will push it closer to $45. Still a great deal, but the killer for me-

Two year agreement required

F that. I am SO done with service contracts.

So issac, any chance you will be picking up the CM7 mantle?

Hello everyone:

I got my MT about 2 weeks ago but have been a long-time lurker here. I wanted to wait and see how the product was received (what the pro's and con's were) and what the developer communities did to it (how it was improved). I have to say I'm very impressed! (I bought an Archos product once, but was way too early in getting it. The hype of the product, and what it could 'supposedly do' got to me, and I turned out being TERRIBLY disappointed with the end-result. Sometimes a product or user experience can't be improved if its components are that bad. This time I wanted to be very patient.)

Anyway, I flashed B.06 for the first time the other day. (I was hopoing that I wouldn't need to flash ROMS but came to realize some of the MT shortcomings were just too 'big'.) It is definitely a very nice build, greatly improving the user experience -- thanks to tickerguy, isaac and the many users who have helped with it! I've played around with several Android phones & tablets before but what I wanted to say, for those who have never tried this ROM before, is to follow the installation directions exactly as stated. I thought I had it (for what needed to be done for the install), based on my previous Android knowledge and reading things here and watching the videos (from minus -- thanks!!), but I forgot to flash the Gapps before booting for the first time.

I didn't think it would be a big deal but needless to say it was. The Gmail app was corrupted and I always (ALWAYS!) got the force close/report pop-up. Gmail never worked. In the end, I had to format the system and, fortunately, it fixed it.

So yeah this is probably a silly post, and the directions at the beginning of the thread tell you what to do, but I would suggest you follow them EXACTLY as they are. No matter how familiar you are with things, it can be easy to skip/forget a step (or two even).

Lastly, and again, great work to tickerguy, isaacj87, minus5252 and everyone else!! I'm very thankful for all of your efforts. :)

I know a few of you on here must be running sip clients. I've been having a hell of a time with them. I've tried sipdroid and csipsimple tied to a free PBXes.org account. No luck on either. No outbound or inbound calls. Outbound calls result in force closes and spontaneous reboots, its ugly and immediately apparent. TG's CM7 gives me zero hassle on everything except these sip client apps. I don't actually know much about VOIP and only got into this because of a friend who is obsessed with it. He originally installed it on my stock froyo load and it worked so great I became a believer, but now that I have every thing installed on CM7 b.06 i'm getting nothing. My friend is convinced i just need to revert to stock, which i may test out, but honestly if it's a choice between having VOIP and having a decent ROM on my phone...
Anyone know anything about this? I keep hoping it's just some stupid noob mistake or a bad setting, but besides running a test in stock Froyo, I'm out of ideas at this point.

Why not use google voice?

I've still got my Optimus V and my current Triumph, however I did buy a G2x on eBay this morning with the intention of switching to T-Mobile as well.

Not sure what I'll do with either of them, the V has BACKside on it and they aren't selling for much. Now that I turn it back on that GPS certainly locks fast. My mother and step father both have the Optimus V per my recommendation and they love it.

The Triumph has really been my favorite phone so far, it's so slim and fast. I've not had any performance problems with it, and battery life has almost always been good. (Though I'm quite picky about what is running <3 Autostarts)

I'll miss this phone, but the T-Mobile speeds everyone has been getting on 4G in my area have made me very jelly, and the G2x seems like a nice phone with a decent following on the ROM side of things.

So thanks for all the work put into this phone, tickerguy and isaacj87.

I see now, thanks. I do have an LLC, however, I'm not interested in getting back into a contract before checking out that Republic Wireless I mentioned and Boost Mobile ($35 for unlimited everything is hard to beat too!)

What do you mean by this regarding Groove IP?

Groove IP is a Voip app that you can use over your phones data plan.
you buy the app and use a google voice or free internet number with the app
to make free calls, so it wont use up the 100 minutes, just data.

I was thinking of doing the same thing, but I just bought a triumph this week.

Thank you Tickerguy for all of your efforts.

I can't speak for anyone else, but do you think you would have time to complete the rom to the point of being picked up by the official CM7 team if the community stepped in and paid for your VM plan and phone? I can take care of the monthly plan for a couple months if the community can step in and pay for your phone.

I assume you're going to sell your Triumph. I figure you could get at least $200 out of it. So if we raised $200 to pay for your phone, and I picked up your VM fees, could you stick around and continue development?

The amount money I've saved over the past 2 months with my Triumph and VM compared to a similar Sprint phone/plan would basically be the difference in paying for your plan for a few months.
