If the specs on this phone turn out to be true, then this will be my next phone.

Tegra 3 quad core, ics, 720p display (hopefully lcd so I can read it in sunlight), sense and 8mp camera. Seems like some one read my Christmas wish list :)

Only thing not so keen on is the size 4.7" seems on the large size for my hands, but hay can't have everything...

Who is going to wait for this over galaxy nexus, I sure am...

Regarding battery, I hope the 5th core of the processor will help due to it running background tasks at a lower clock speed. Guess we will know more about this processor when the asus transformer 2 is released.

Sounds like a great contender phone though.

I will be happy if htc put a decent amount of space for apps, make the sound / speaker decent.

Looking forward to more details on this phone.

From what I read it is supposed to be released with gb not ICS. Sounds like a beast but most of those cores will be wasted since ICS and most apps are not optimized for quad core

This phone ticks all the boxes for me.

4.7" screen, tick
HD screen, tick
multiple cores, tick
at least 1GB RAM, tick

Really hope it has a micro sd card slot. I am not liking the trend with the sensation XL and nexus of omitting micor sd card slots Thought I really don't expect this phone to be out for a while (that is if the rumour is true). Based on past history of time from leak to release I would put this phone at a Q2 2012 release. Hope it comes out earlier as this is the top of my list right now.

I think Sense adds a lot to the phone. Mainly a "wow cool" factor but it has it has it's usefulness too. Easy to check the weather and time. *shrug

Not sure how sense will work with the new UI with ICS tho.

This phone is a beast. Half tempted to forget the Galaxy Nexus and wait for more details on this guy.

Though, I'm not sure I care for Sense..

+1 on that. To be honest I was all over the Nexus no matter what, but I'm having second thoughts. I know something new is always around the corner but this is truly a game changer if true. Only two things holding me back is 1)I dont want to wait another ~3 months. 2) Definitely not a huge fan of HTC.

Also about the quad core talking going on above- the software has not caught up to this YET..but its really only a matter of time until developers make use of all four cores (although most will describe this as very unnecessary), Moore's Law speaks for itself :).

Two more disappointments for me anyhow

1. micro sim - this could be a deal breaker as im on a very good payg old tariff. Don't want to swap to a new sim..... Argghhh

2. Not as important but still a shame, no sd card slot.

Will have to see if things pan out like this.

Won't games from nvidea be optimised for quad core?

Still interested but slightly less so

I have Verizon so I'm out. Verizon doesn't use micro-sim cards. It's probably AT&T or Sprint.

Most apps aren't optimized for quad core because there are no quad cores out there yet. However, as someone above mentioned, nvidia will most likely have a few quad-core games or apps available at launch.

Also, if you think about it, those that bought the Motorola Atrix when it launched and are locked into a 2 year contract are pretty much good until their contract is up. So, even though you may think that grabbing this phone would seem pointless since no apps are optimized for it yet, it would be in a way "future proof". Not to mention, that this many cores along with the amount of cores on the GPU are on par if not better than the Sony Vita.

The GPU uses 12 cores. It is talked about in the article on the front page right now: Quad-Core Android: NVIDIA Tegra 3 Explored In-Depth

Also, the rumors for the Edge is that it will have HSPA+ which means Verizon wouldn't be a candidate, but rather T-Mobile or AT&T. Unless another rumor mentions LTE or CDMA capabilities, it doesn't look like it'll go to Verizon or Sprint.

I'm very interested as well. I was looking at the Rezound but I'm holding out for now. I'm waiting to do my upgrade around March/April. I will be keeping my eye on The Edge.

Has anybody heard about "Zeta"?

I've been reading about the Zeta for the last hour. If it is a real device to come, it sure has very goods specs about it. Hopefully it comes to VZW.
