First time flashing CyanogenMod 7 to the Samsung Vibrant, or coming from another ROM?
This guide assumes the Samsung Vibrant already has Android 2.2 build UVKB5 already installed on it. If the Samsung Vibrant already has ClockworkMod Recovery installed, skip this section.
First time flashing CyanogenMod 7 to the Samsung Vibrant, or coming from another ROM?
- Root the device and install ClockworkMod Recovery.
- Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
- Format the system, data & cache partitions of your device.
- Perform a factory reset.
- Flash CyanogenMod.
- Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package.
This guide assumes the Samsung Vibrant already has Android 2.2 build UVKB5 already installed on it. If the Samsung Vibrant already has ClockworkMod Recovery installed, skip this section.
Warning: Installing a custom recovery image on the Samsung Vibrant will void the warranty.
- Download Cmenard's OverStock kernel with ClockworkMod Recovery, the Heimdall Suite:

- Heimdall Suite 1.1.1: download
- Windows ONLY:
- Power off the Samsung Vibrant and connect the microUSB to the computer but not the Samsung Vibrant.
- Boot the Samsung Vibrant into download mode by holding down Volume Up & Volume Down while connecting the USB to it.
- Run the included zadig.exe in the drivers folder of the Heimdall Suite.
- From the menu, choose Options
