Root verizon and evo

I was wondering if it was possible to flash to verizon just for phone and text. My company cell is verizon and just that a phone. I would like to buy a used evo and use it inplace of my company phone. No wimax use.

I've read about using Verizon towers and using Verizon PRL's before but am not sure if you can "flash" it to Verizon.....

I would need the phone number to work so I guess i would have to clone the info from the samssung U-640 to the evo. I have the meid hex. I dont know what else i would need if its even possible.

I guess that would technically be possible, similar to folks flashing to Boost or Metro... but since cloning is technically illegal, wouldn't it be easier to just find a used Incredible or Thunderbolt (or even Droid X or something)? I understand it won't have the same dev support that we enjoy with the Evo, but at least the Incredible and Thunderbolt have some support over at themikmik...

That is a good point Im just use to the evo and a second evo means i could test apps and roms on the work evo before i mess with my evo:D

Haha Totally understand that impulse. But I think it would be easier in the long run to go the used verizon phone route. I see too many threads of people flashed to Boost/Metro/etc who have to get it re-flashed, find another donor phone, etc... And think of it this way: if you buy a used Incredible (or Incredible2 or Tbolt), you'll have a completely different toy to play with for hours and hours, taking more and more of your time as you learn about its ins and outs and completely different roms... wait, I forgot what the helpful part of this was supposed to be. ;)

I dont think its possible... I only say that cuz you need to have the ESN on that providers list of approved devices and the EVO wouldnt be on that list. But I do like the idea of using a thunderbolt or incredible/2 cuz they are all spitting images of eachother

on topic it might be possible just not very legal as far as what is being discussed. but we will leave it at that.

Im doin well Frenchy :D yeah, my new job(s) kinda dictate how much time i can spend on here nowadays :( Im trying to decide if i should let sprint boot me or switch back to either the standard prl or the hybrid or something.... If I get booted, I could hop on my folks' family plan and get the S2 or whatever at&t or vzw has to offer since they both currently have 4G in my area.... what to do what to do what to do LoL
