A little disappointed in the screen quality

Comparing Apples to Oranges. They are NOT the same display. They are not even the same TYPE of display.

The Charge uses a more advanced screen. It's going to look better than the RAZR's.

Comparing the two is like comparing a 1080p LCD to a 1080p Plasma and complaining because the 1080p LCD doesn't look as good as the 1080p plasma because the plasma has whiter whites and blacker blacks.

Freakin' epic! I mention to people that plasma is better all the time, they ask some questions, then go out and buy LCD/LED type tv technology because the salesman said it was better. :D:D

The Rezound is more sharp, but has less punch and saturation. I'm not sure its a better screen overall due to that.

You can see a good example of that in the wirefly side by side comparison. Around 9:50 in the video.

Schmackdown! Motorola DROID RAZR vs HTC Rezound - YouTube

I thought the same thing until I actually saw the display. The guy seems blind as a bat, considering he could not read the results on the Quadrant result for the Rezound. He had the issue twice- once in each video. I do not have 20/20, yet had no problem reading the scores from a distance.

See them both for yourself. Zero pixels on the Rezound, brighter and more natural color. Where you have to zoom a lot of text scenarios on the Razr to read content (due to the pentile effect), no need on the Rezound.

Again, had I not seen the Rezound and compared the two side by side, I would not have noticed. Stunning display and great camera too.

Except for the fact the LCD's have the whiter whites.

I think the whole screen debate can stop now! There is a major flaw in the Razrs screen that I found last night. And it may be something that could potentially be wide spread...

Take a look at the Rezound and GNex when they come out, you'll see how much better the display can get ;)

Ah we shall see. The Galalxy S 2 Nexus has the same screen tech and isnt going to be that much better if at all. Motorola seems to have tried to dial down the color saturation a bit on the Razr and have caused the whites to have a green cast to them. On the other hand Samsung jacks up the color saturation and the whites
end up with a blue cast to them. IMO I would rather have the warmer more natural colors on the Razr than the way overblown cooler colors on Samsungs. I gave spent a good portion of today playing with the Rezound and it has more natural colors than both and better whites but blacks are more greyish and detail is lacking due to the lower contrast. The viewing angles are typical LCD ( ie: not great). Also to my dismay outdoor viewing on the Rezound is just about worse than any device I have ever used. Guess we will have to wait awhile longer for that perfect display.

I saw that as well... only when it was dark though - couldn't see that in a normally lit room. Thought *maybe* it was the Zagg I put on their immediately after buying it...

Yea I was thinking about this today. I used to be one of those that didnt like Amoled screens until I actually saw one...lol. Now...if I had to choose....I couldnt honestly say what I would want.

The RAZR, since it uses an Amoled screen does have excellent viewing angles for anything that doesnt have a white background. On white backgrounds it will seem blue ish or green ish, depending on who you ask and what level brightness their phone is at. Doesnt wash out like some LCD screens, it just casts a lil tint. On videos and games its not really noticeable.

This is my first phone with an Amoled screen so I'm still getting used to the cons of it. No deal breakers for me yet, but I can see the cons. I accepted the cons of typical LCD screens long ago, so the Rezound screen wouldnt bother me. Its other things about the phone that would make it a keeper or a throw back. I may get it just to see some things.

I went and looked at the resound. I honestly can't tell the difference between it and the bolt. I'd even go as far as say I'm digging my razr screen better. The blacks were really light and it looks like it would be a pita to see in sunlight like the bolt. I watched airplane on Netflix while working out and the white shirts looked white and not gray on the razr.

I am not trying to justify my purchase, if I felt it were a better phone, I'd get it. The sgs2 blows the razr screen away to me. I'd like to see the gnex screen.
