Hey Guys

I am new to Android, and I thought to myself, lets start at Android Forums

I have recently migrated from the Apple iPhone 4 to the Samsung Galaxy S II

So far I am loving it but wish to know a few things.

First of all, the 4 default buttons on the bottom bar, is there a way I can remove one of them and drag what I want in there?

Second, what is the easiest way to get audio and pictures onto the phone

Third. Is there a way I can control the music player from my lock screen so I can change songs safely while driving like I could with the iphone. Like >> Play and <<

I am having a few connectivitiy issues at the moment, and maybe its because I have not set something up right. A few applications I am using so far wont let me connect to the internet, saying something about Android is having trouble viewing the webpage.

Thanks in advance for any info you can give me :)

Welcome my adroid brethren!

hi, i dont have an S2 but will soon and it will be my 2nd android phone.

1. To change the 4 default icons you need to go into the app drawer, press the left button on the phone and select edit and then just drag and drop the apps you want . (thanks aceominous :) )

2. audio & pictures. Connect it to your PC and it appears as an extra drive . Just drag and drop files onto it.

3. I have HTC and the music player has lock screen widget dont know about s2. Poweramp is a very good music player that also has a lock screen widget you can buy from android market.

4. dont know about your connection issues.

scratch my last message.

One thing I have noticed is that I have my MP3 volume maxed, but when I plug in my 3.5mm cable to the top of it to play it through a CD player, it only goes 50% and I have to turn it up on my phone again.

What do I have to do to fix that

Are you talking about Media Volume? Or the volume in the music player app.

If it's Media Volume, it's an intended feature to have separate volumes for built-in speaker and headphones/aux.

its the media volume, i have it at max on aux then unplug, replug and it seems to go to half level volume

Its made like this for your own protection dude. Samsung cannot know what type/brand of headphone or earbuds you are plugging in, so they dont want you to damage your hearing by leaving the sound at maximum level so you can sue them afterwards. They're smart. I think its a cool feature if u ask me.

Thisnameistaken, I used power amp as suggested by these guys, I was able to make a widget for a seperate lockscreen, so I can control my music while the phone is locked.

it makes sense r3dpuma. Samsung probably have been stung before by some dumb deaf kid, I guess it will be something I will learn to accept, I dont usually have headphones for it, merely a cable between my samsung and my cars audio system.
