Keeping my Thunderbolt

I would miss the kick stand.
me too...its my main concern about the Gnex. a dock will have to do though.

The specs arent that much better, not to mention it costs too much right now.

At least wait until the price goes down a bit.
not much better? really?
1.5ghz dual core = way better than 1ghz single
720P super LCD = way better than 480x800 regular lcd
1gb RAM > .75 gb ram
beats audio with some nice bundled headphones > nothing
larger battery> smaller battery
better camer> good camera

its quite a bit better IMO. its a serious contender to the Gnex, it will sell pretty well IMO. i am just over sense. i just root and get rid of it anyway. i try getting all my phones to be/act like a nexus device so why bother buying anything other than a nexus?

Ok, here's the deal. I'll admit I've become quite a new android phone addict...thanks in no small part to all my enablers on this forum...and I get excited with each new worthy contender coming on the market. (Just take a look at all my pitiful posts around t-bolt launch time with the rest of you). :) So, no surprise I tried to push for an early upgrade with Verizon to help position myself for some of these new November launches. The Verizon team wasn't agreeable this time, but my effort was only a gesture at best. If there were new phones I really was going goofy over, I think I could commit more to my case. :D

In any event, I looked at the Razr on Friday. The sales guy gives me a demo and then takes a picture with it. As we both mulled over the awful result, he simply put the phone down and asked if I'd like to see anything else. Enuff said. Then Monday came and I was Rezound bound. I checked it out at my local corporate store and was happy that everyone left me alone for about a half hour as I did the kind of side by side with the t-bolt that I cared about. So, okay, the red accents are kind of cool, especially bottom buttons. And the display is definitely sharper, especially when you look at detail in things like the clock or any text. But, geez, call me names if you want, but I still think the display on the t-bolt pops a little more. I got the same feeling with the htc Sensation...the Rezound screen looks a little more soft or subdued, like muted or washed out in many ways, and with out the contrast ratio or depth of the t-bolt. I don't know what it is with these true 16:9 displays that just leaves me a bit underwhelmed when held next to the t-bolt. Plus, because of the aspect difference in the displays, the t-bolt looks like there is much more screen to it. Perhaps someone with more phone tech-i-ness than I have can explain what I'm seeing here and why I'm preferring my t-bolt over these newer, more hd offerings? Or maybe it just comes down to preference. And, no, the Beats branding didn't even figure into the equation for some reason.;)

I know, you're thinking is there an end somewhere in sight to this post. But, relax, just two more quick things, promise. While I was in the store, the Rezound switched from 3g to 1x while my t-bolt stayed in 3g. Hmmmm...possible switching issue, or just the poor signal stability or fluke potential of being inside a mall? Also, someone brought out a Samsung Galaxy S2 and, I have to say, the screen looked more eye catching then any of the others...and the ui was pretty smooth. Now I'm no Samsung guy, and it does feel like a hunk of plastic, but just sayin. Again, whatever stellar specs these new phones have with their displays, like 720p in the case of the Rezound, for me, there seems to be something lacking in the overall presentation. Whew! Good thing I didn't post this in the Rezound section or I might be thrashed. I know there are good reasons to switch, though, so to each his own.

Bottom line is I'm t-bolt proud for the moment...especially since the last update. The sense 3.5 would be nice, though, as I liked the option in there of a live weather wallpaper. Uh oh, rooters are now racing to the keyboard to respond! :p

Have a good day androiders!!

OK I am now a Rezound owner and let me say this...

The Ibeats ear Buds are bass heavy crap, I use a nice pair of shure ear buds and the Ibeats can't touch them for sound quality. I laugh when I see pics of Dre with statements like you're not hearing all the music, well if you have his beats stuff you might be missing the treble. :)

Don't let the ibeats enter into the choice, if they really wanted to **** you they would include two pairs!!

lol. i know what you mean. i think Beats in general is WAY overhyped. But, not everyone know it. they think the extra bass is better.

while it isn't that well advertised, i still think it will be a good seller. people like sense, the salesman will sell them on the 1.5ghz dual core processor and HD screen and Beats. that alone will pull plenty away from the "bland" nexus and the Razr.
