Root How do you root this phone?

The only way I know how to root is by using unrevoked3 and they have not added any new phones in months, but I don't want to get this phone if I can't root it.

Currently there is only a Temp root method no Perm Root and no S Off.

Personally i wouldn't even bother until at least Perm Root is available.

Hopefully it shouldn't be long there are some good people working on this device.

I agree. Until there is perm root I really can't see myself getting this phone. I have tons of stuff I need to transfer over via Tibu and can't do that without perm root. So I'd lose a lot of my app info, which I can't stomache doing. Hoping a dev at least cracks a perm root quickly.

Couldn't you do a temporary root then restore with Tibu? I would think, if you get full superuser privileges with the temp root, that you could write any files you would need to.

Ive read posts on xda of others who have tried but it did not work. Basically, it's a practically useless temporary root. Until we have a permanant root for this phone it really isn't rooted for much that would be useful to use actual root apps.

A lot of devs are working to get s-off... I have no doubt it will be done soon. This is a great device and I am happy to see a lot of support for it.

However, in the meantime there IS the temp root that everyone has mentioned (see sticky root guide)...

Just a note... after following the directions, if Titanium says "unable to meet system requirements" all you gotta do is go to menu > sd & phone storage > mount sd card... since the root process seems to unmount it for some reason (at least for me). I would also do this with a blank one (i temporarily put my Titanium backup on the phone's internal memory) because I did it the other night with my normal one and a lot of images and such got erased somehow. I managed to get a lot of them back with a restoration prog, and I had backups of the rest-- but there were still some that I lost. Just trying to help. ;)
