Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

was having random reboots before, but now on a clean flash (factory reset and format /system), over 24 hours without reboot! (Got one sleep of death at the beginning though...) looking pretty good.

The 3G data got an issue just now, can't connect to Internet although showing 3G on the status bar, good connection. Turn airplane mode on and then off, 3G data back. weird.

Also, GPS seems to take longer to lock. maybe the weather today. I will keep an eye on that...

The most-recent betas include code that catches the data drops and resets the stack. It logs it too, if you're watching it with a logcat. The only condition it can't catch due to how it happens is when the radio loses both data and voice - there's no way for the software to know if that's really "out of service area" or the radio crashing internally.

I apologize for the noob-ish question in advance but I just made the jump to CM7 two days ago and it's awesome. Thanks TG for everything you've done so far to get this ROM to the stage it is at now. :)

Regarding MMS, are they completely disabled in this latest version or do I have to do something in order to get MMS functional? I haven't been able to send or receive any since switching to CM7? Any and all advice is welcomed.

MMS work fine.

1. You have mobile data (3g) enabled? You need it on to send/recieve MMS. Wifi will not cut it.
2. Are you using the stock SMS app? Or 3rd party? Some people have been having issues with the 3rd party messenger apps.

Weird, I'm on 3G and am using the stock SMS app. Last night I had a delay of almost 4 hours in receiving my regular sms - they all came in at the same time (16 messages) - so it might be a bug in my phone?

Further support for Tickerguy's phenomenal power management tweaks. I wanted to see how my phone would do overnight with no use at all- 12% over 12 hours! It was actually close to 11% but the counter went down from 89 to 88 a second before I was able to get the screen shot. You can't ask for more than that! I went ahead and ran the phone another 12 hours with petty heavy use (calls, texts, facebook, and youtube videos) and it was still at 40% before plugging it in. Great work Tickerguy!

Sounds like more of a network issue. I had that happen on both CM7 and stock at various times. If it keeps happening regularly I would worry about it more, but just once is probably the VM network.

Well Im not sure if anyone else has had this problem but I have killed my device by using the reboot option in the power menu. The first time I figured there was just something off with my phone as a quick google search showed that it's a common problem for these phones to just turn off and never boot up again(at least within the starting months) but I got a replacement phone and it's doing the same exact thing. Has anyone else experienced this or anything similar to this before? The hardware issues with this phone are really starting to frustrate me and with no other virgin alternative I may just go back to t-mobile(especially with that attractive $30 unlimited text and data plan)

I've noticed this before - I usually do a re-boot if I don't get a response from someone if I think they should have. It could also be Virgin and their data drops. But for the most part (90%) I usually have no problems.

Thing is I did about 4-6 reboots last night because I thought it was odd that none of my friends had text me back within that 4hr period. I'll call Virgin and explain to them that there's an issue with me sending and receiving mms. Maybe they can do something about it other than tell me to remove the battery for 30 sec and then power on the device.

I could never get MMS to work on stock but can send them all day using CM7 or Miui without issue. Also, after installing Miui a few builds back I was not receiving SMS messages and had thought it was a bug in the Rom so I performed a full wipe and installed CM7 but still could not receive text messages. It would show that they had sent when sending a message but I received no messages for a few hours so I thought I fried my radio or something considering the issue continued despite changing Roms. The next morning why in my car on the way to the job my phone lit up and within 10 minutes all the messages that had been sent to me from the night before including those I sent myself all came through consecutively. Anyhow this had to have been a virgin issue as I had gone from Miui, stock and CM7 and could not receive any messages for about 12 hours. Was later informed that during this period people had received my texts but I did not get their responses until the next day.

You do it from recovery.

I use the Battery Calibration app and not CWM. This is only because A, I had success with the app before knowing the option was available through CWM and B, I’m not exactly sure if I know how to use the feature in CWM correctly. I know you should be at 100% when wiping the battery stats and have seen recommendations on different forums and the Batterycalibration app FAQ page that you should let the phone charge a few hours over 100% to insure you are actually at 100% as sometimes after flashing a new Rom the battery scaling could be off and the phone saying 100% does not guaranty it is actually at 100%. So using the app as opposed to CWM also comes down to my unfounded fear of booting into recovery with the USB plugged in. I have no real basis for this fear but because I have it I use the app because I am afraid the phone will go below 100% why rebooting into recovery unplugged. I have been meaning to ask around the forum for a while now about this fear of booting into recovery why charging via AC if anyone would like to ease my mind with a response. That or a correction if any of my information regarding this issue is incorrect.

It is supposed to do this. At 90% it begins to trickle charge. It does this so the battery does not overcharge.

Thanks for letting me know! im glad im getting my questions answered so quick its nice to experience.

I had one more issue aswell its a problem with the battery usage stats not resetting when i plug in my phone to charge by usb or ac. They only reset when i reboot my phone. Is this a known issue or is there a fix? Let me know Thanks!

I was curious if anyone knows if there are Thunderbolt files/fixes out there that would work on the Triumph. Seems that the base build 1.13.605.7 updates for the Thunderbolt fixed its gps issue (with the same qualcomm chip).

Is there anyway to get this data and impletment a cm7 update.zip to apply those fixes?

Also, could you use a modified Thunderbolt rom and/or the Radios for the Thunderbolt on the Triumph?

Also, I have the GPS working if anyone is interested. Still no AGPS because as Tickerguy states, Its disabled deep in the code. Sees 2-4 sats instantly & First lock of the day takes about 10 min. But once it locks, you have instant locks with 8-12 sats and Navigation locks on instantly within 10 to 20 meters.

I have screenshots of accuracy within 6 feet (only happened once on a good clear day.)

Takes me right at 60 secs for initial lock. Within 90, I'm located to 6ft. No fixes or anything special. CM7
Edit:
Just wanted to add that I timed this after having not used GPS for several days and have turned off phone several times since then.
Just seems like 10 min to initial lock is not a fix, but a severe problem.
