Well now that VZW is officially screwing us, I'm up for screwing them. Who else is ready to go buy a Rezound today with 100% intention of returning it when the GNex is available?

I can't read the last 100 pages to try to catch up on chatter on the subject, but has anyone CONFIRMED the news of their extended return policy? What exactly were you told by VZW reps?

Hey Han. I love the DInc 2. If my wife's LG Ally wasn't on dying, I might hold off on upgrading early. I know it is a temporary phone, so I won't suggest root and ROM. FWIW, CyanogenMod runs so smooth.

I am really liking it! Can't believe how thin it is compared to the Tank OG Droid, and much lighter. I've got Go Launcher Ex with a tron-like them going. It's really nice.

^This. These units have been manufactured, boxed and shipped by now. They are in warehouses and most likely in stores. The only way any software issue gets worked out now is OTA. You are talking MAJOR RECALL and MAJOR DELAYS if there is a need for them to fix it without OTA. This device either comes as it is now or it does not make the December 31st deadline VZW set for themself. I say bull.

To add to my original thought, the BLOATWARE that is in question are non-binary apps. They are not essential for the phone to function properly. Think of it, if ANY app didn't work would you have to take your phone in or does the developer simply update the app? These are apps people. They are NOT part of the OS. I liken the freakout by some on this news to a dog that's been kicked too many times. We even hear a boot and we run. It's ok, come down from the ledge. Mondays a comin!

14 days from activation.

I talked to an in store rep, and chatted online with one from verizonwireless.com

Like I said before, I believe Verizon would not agree with that assessment when it comes to Back-up Assistant. They won't release a phone without it.

Well then I suggest you go un-neglect her. We'll be here when you get back. Don't worry, we'll be here.

See the thing is that the sooner I get the Nexus, the sooner she gives the baby a toddler locked (yes, there is an Android App for that) LG Ally, I give her my CyanogenMod tweaked DInc 2 and we can finally start video chatting. It doesn't keep her from ensuring my condition persists, but she's down.

P.S. I plan on getting her the GNex in March so I can use the DInc 2 as a portable media device. Don't tell her.

Your grasping at straws. You have no definite idea what is "holding up" this phone. We have "sources" who have given tidbits here and there, but even the almighty "sources" have had their flaws. For all we know, the launch will be the 8th just as Samsung, Google, and VZW had planned the entire way.

All I'm saying is that people need to chill the [bleep] out. I want it also but it will be here soon enough. No reason to get pouty about a phone.

I think you are in the wrong thread ;) People here are passionate about the phone (in case the nearly 40k posts weren't already an indicator).

And as far as grasping at straws, if the shoe fits...we know VZW is in love with their crapware. We know the GSM model was released and is fine afaik. Samsung and Google have both stated it was ready and there were no software/hardware issues. Google went as far as to say November. Then we hear about some last minute testing being done which MAY delay things. We were hung up on 11/21 or week of 11/21, but this last minute "testing" is a probable delay. Which means VZW crapware, or VZW purposely delaying it for other reasons (RAZR conspiracy theory). My point is, the scenario in which it was ready, about to launch, and VZW found a bug with their crapware on the phone makes a lot of sense and sort of corroborates the various dates being thrown around by sources, etc.

man this doesnt make sense. theres no way these people go into meetings every day and change the release date

Unfortunately, they do. My sister works in an area where some people above her are called to meetings with top-level execs all the time. She says they're either always going to a meeting, or on teleconferencing in their offices with the doors locked.

She says they micromanage to the last detail on absolutely everything. It's ridiculous.
