***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Their GPS is notoriously bad and has been commented on in many reviews. On my Charge it would take forever to lock on. Then there's the 4G connectivity issues with the Charge and the lousy Samsung 4G radio. My current Bionic absolutely runs circles around what my Charge could do with a 4G signal.

Look at any Charge forum to see how bad the Samsung hardware can be.

Keep in mind that the GNex has been reported to have brand new GPS hardware... So the historical problems with the Samsung GPS might be moot. ::crossing fingers:: :D

Ah I didn't catch that anywhere in my skim-reading the last few days. Got a link or quote?

I was slightly off...the boss said they would be really busy on Monday not really happy.

I don't know if this is anything....but I work at BestBuy (in BestBuy Mobile) and we have a big ole box that my manager won't let me open. It doesn't say Samsung, Google, nothing. He's saying he doesn't know what it is either, but it has our typical bestbuy do not open until 11/21 wrapper on it.

Little update on the box. My manager is playing stupid, but says we might be busy on Monday

Nooooooo the bootloader is locked and encrypted, which the GNex had better not be.

I hate to say this, but maybe BMX was referring to the GNex having alocked bootloader when he said it isn't a Nexus anymore. Remember when Moto was questioned about the Razr having a locked bootloader, and their repsonse was "it is Verizon's decision".

I'm bummed by the extra support for 12/8 on droid-life. :( But encouraged by the 32GB shown on the spec sheet of training material. This is a wild ride. Someone snap yo fingers and make it available tomorrow to kill the craziness!

Do wonder if the SAV bug has anything to do with it though. Which I do hope we get to avoid altogether.

I've not been this excited since the launch of the OG Moto Droid, I'm going nuts here! This will probably be a wild week of speculation, if nothing else.

I love that you swoop in, give us your $0.02 and leave again before getting sucked into the Nexus Vortex

I am worried about that as well. If the nexus is locked I'll get the first phone to be unlocked, I'm betting on Rezound in that case.

If that's true, I will purchase a Rezound, root it, and happily be running CM9 hopefully in early 2012.

I really REALLY hope this is BS. Because if Verizon forced them to lock it down, I will also consider switching carriers. I'm sick of the shenanigans VZW.

I have to wholeheartedly agree. If not for the Nexus I think a lot of us would be getting or already have the ReZound.
and damnit, I've typed ReZound enough that even the iPad corrects it for me. :(

I am not envious of that commute. I'm on 287 for a small stretch between 208 and 17 so I don't get much traffic from that unless something really bad happens on the thruway.

Yeah my daily commute consists of taking the parkway from exit 88 to exit 127 onto 440/287 north, and i take that to exit 10

New branch is at /cyanogen/galaxy-2636/tree/ics
Compare ics branch with master

IMO the Rezound is the logical heir to the Thunderbolt, not the Incredible.

I completely disagree. The Incredible was released in April of 2010 which makes the Rezound almost 2 years since then and you can upgrade after 20 months on a contract I believe if it still works that way which makes a release a month or so before the new year perfect timing to catch all of the 2 year Incredible contracts. The Thunderbolt was about a year after the launch of the Incredible which would have caught the 1 year contracts. In the end I think both phones were heirs to the Incredible. On another note the Rezound went back to the red internals which hadn't been done on anything but the Incredible. This is just speculation but that is what my logic has led me to believe.

Given the unpredictability of verizon during this whole fiasco; how far-fetched would it be for them to actually release it on thanksgiving, given that it is a Thursday. I really doubt if it comes this week that it would be black friday. However it would give the most amount of time to razr/rezound to sell while still being out prior to black friday. Plus it would "bury" the phone because most people probably won't go out and get it on thanksgiving. And on top of that it would fit that week of 21st rumor.

Now because that makes such logical sense, we know verizon won't do it.

EPIC FAIL (I know no one uses this term any more but it must be used for this scenario)

The Galaxy Nexus picture clearly shows a Galaxy S II, with stock Froyo nonetheless. I don't think this document is legit.

Actually, that's an original Nexus S mockup from another Android site from before the Nexus S was announced! lol It's a Galaxy S in the picture shopped to look like what the Nexus S would look like.

I think the document is legit because someone trying to fake it would know that's not a Galaxy Nexus! It was probably a clueless Verizon graphic designer who just Googled "Nexus" and grabbed that for the chart!

Oh yes, long time lurker, first time poster.

Nexus tomorrow?

What's your stance on the amalgamation of all the signs pointing to this week? Do you have a VERY optimistic outlook like I do? ;)

Well there will be no foot traffic in the stores as the verizon stores by me are closed thursday.
