Current GNex owners - Any gps issues?

Hello ladies and gents, (or Europe - lads and lasses?)

Have any of you Galaxy Nexus owners experienced any gps issues? What are the approximate lock on times? Just curious because of Samsung's bad reputation in that department.

I read in another thread where a user said they gave up after 90 seconds and it could lock on to a satellite.

You mean thread on razr. To me that one looks very suspicious. He said menu button on it when we know it's task/app button on ICS.

I saw several reviews on GSM nexus from UK and saw none of them mentioning GPS issue and it seems to work well. Nexus has barometer sensor to help faster GPS lock.

Just thought I would mention that my almost year old Nexus S has never had any GPS problems. I haven't heard anyone having GPS problems with Samsung since the original SGS was released.

What are you basing this off of? Have you heard of GPS problems with recent Samsung devices?

My brother has a fascinate and is gps is majorly f'ed up.

That's the one I was referring too. Until he provides screen shot, picture of his Nexus, I don't take it seriously. What he stated don't make much sense on several things.

I am having an issue. The most accurate GPS readin I can get it 4700 metres. My iPhone is beside me too, with no sim card and it instantly drops the pin on my house. Now I am new to Android so some help would be appreciated!

I have restarted the phone, the app, cleared the cache, and reticked all the location settings. Still no better.

Turn on wifi helps with signal strength

Sorry I meant to say WiFi is on and the phone has 4 bars of signal.

Literally just tried mine with WiFi off and it picked up my location in a matter of seconds. Was also able to plan a route in navigation in about 15-20 seconds. Sometimes Android has a GPS accuracy problem. I had it on my old Desire, it used to say accurate to within 1700 metres. And in a city like Belfast, which is only about 10 miles wide, its kinda hard to narrow it down lol.

Tried the GPS Test app from the market. It says that my GPS is on on the device but I can't be found. Bad sign.

Yeah more than once. If I turn WiFi location off and ONLY have satellite on, I can't be found. Must be busted. Sigh.

I'm using the Nexus in London. GPS works just fine, at least as well as it did on my HTC Desire and quicker than my Blackberry. Typically get a lock in 3-5 secs from starting maps.

I hate to advise this, as it will wipe your accounts and apps and such, but a factory reset will reflash the os image and reinstall all drivers.. if a factory reset doesn't work then it sounds like it is defective...
