do you have any apps installed ?? to get 240mb available memory. I got rid of all non essential system apps like myriad, cooltek language packs, nero sync, smoke wallpapers, stock facebook, what else did you remove? I can only manage 200 >210 mb available.

I bet that if the Triumph has Gorilla Glass, all the variants do as well. It wouldn't make any sense for Motorola/VM to add an extra expense to their pre-paid phone and not even promote the feature. I've never seen any mention of the Triumph having GG other than the page from Corning that someone dug up and posted on the forum. I could guess at two possibilities.
1. Foxconn made the x6 variants with GG, but it somehow didn't get translated to the PR department to promote it as a feature, or
2. The Triumph doesn't really have Gorilla Glass, and it ended up on that page by mistake, maybe because the "real" Motorola phones have GG.
Like I said, just guesses.

These are some of the apps I rename:

Android_RSS_home2_hdpi.apk (RSS reader)
maps.apk (Google Maps)
stock_home2_hdpi.apk (stock market)
weather_home3_hdpi.apk (weather apps)
emailwidget_home2_hdpi.apk (email (not GMail)
email.apk (email (not GMail)

I don't use those stuff so I removed it. The only thing that run all the time is launcher7 and setCPU, among other system stuff.

Good score BTW, I only got 1800+, how do you reach such high score?

I've never messed with changing my boot animation because it doesn't bother me, but have you guys tried Absolute System Root Tools or Boot Animations Installer? I've also read that XDA had a lot of custom boot animations you can download.

when you say rename the apk's are you using root expolorer and changing apk name as example... maps.apk.bak in /system/app/ ?

not sure why my score is that? maybe fresh Rom?, ran the same test on my other Cherry Mobile Magnum HD running latest CSL GB Rom 2.3.4 and score was down 150.

look at the individual scores at the bottom and compare with yours. Ill rename those apk's when i hear back from you and run another test see if it pushes the score even higher.

me hopes for #1 (im not doing a scratch test though)

#2 you could be onto something here Inspector Gadget !! Keep probing and find the truth, am I right there is nothing from MoTo themselves to confirm GG? just that Reference/Typo on Cornings site

This is a not-so-good review of what your screen could look like after owning it for nearly 6 months. However its used every day and goes to alot of smog and dust covered Asian cities. All the specs on the screen are underneath, you can see a trail coming from the front camera lens which is near covered. Not noticeable at night or under low light, obvious in sunlight. Check it out!

WOW thats a lot of dust! I think that would drive me crazy. Does it come in from under that bezel? I wonder if there is a way to seal that, or if a case would help. Maybe a tiny bit of clear silicone around the edge? I know Motorola never promoted the Triumph as having Gorilla Glass anywhere I've seen, and it seems like it would be a good selling point. All I've seen is that one link, and a lot of people repeating it as fact.

On my A99 it comes in between the glass and the metal grill for the ear speaker, on the left side of the speaker grill where the glass starts to drop to reveal the grill, at that point. As i said you cant notice it at night or low light so it doesnt bother me. Must of been a bad production run for the WellcoM A99 units, ive heard about others on Thai forums complaining about this too. My Cherry Mobile Magnum Hd doesn't have the same problem. The entire first batch of variant X6's globally where random in manufacture quality. Many units suffered poor chassis construction which led to light leaking outside the side frame, making it very noticeable at night. Just checked the price of the unlocked Magnum HD A400 UMTS 900/1900/2100/ variant in the Philippines and its dropped again! Its now AUD $300 Great deal!

This doesn't look like the most reliable source, but this says the x6 has Gorilla Glass.

great news great find, im swaying to believe this is true. You said the Triumph is unlocked? are they flashing roms already or just rooting or did the custom recovery that was released work for the Triumph? im still in Philippines chasing a new dual sim Froyo about to launch here for $100, havnt kept up with wats happening on the X6 scene.. also getting my hands on a cheap Archos 101 16Gig tommorow damn nice tablet been waiting ages for one of these.

No ROMs yet but CWM working. Isaacj87 started porting a custom version, but they ended up using the TJ from Spice version for now. Also reported to be working for the Ascend X. Any word on the release date for the Ascend X Gingerbread? I was at the CinBel store today and he said probably a couple of months but he wasn't sure. I finally had the Ascend X in my hand, but they were sold out of the Nexus S and I wanted to compare them side by side. I was impressed by the Huawei, though. It felt really nice, it barely had any apps on it at all, and it didnt say Cincinnati Bell or Ascend X on it anywhere. I think its the pure X6 straight from China. The screen doesn't look as nice as an AMOLED does, though.
Hope you are having fun in "adult Disneyland" lol. Make sure you use protection on the rides.

The screen is plastic by the look of it. I knock on it and it don't feel or sound like glass. I have yet to replace the screen protector because I afraid I might scratch it. When I get a pouch I will get rid of the screen protector because its annoying

EDIT: I removed the crappy screen protector, and yes you are right. The screen response improved dramatically now

I think the screen is made from glass coz its a capacitive. Plastic can only have resistive and need stylus to navigate properly.

Hi, I need some help here, and am not sure if I am posting this at the right place...

I own one Huawei Ascend X/Ideos X6/U9000 phone. But my friend tried to unlock my phone without my knowledge, and after repeated fail attempts at the pattern lock, I am now permanently locked out of my phone. I have tried various methods at unlocking/factory reset my phone but to no avail.

Is there any way to get around my problem?
