Should I get an HTC EVO 3D?

If you do not make many phone calls, then get it, to me in my experiences with the evo 3d, and I have had 3, it is not a good voice phone, everything else though, its a solid choice

I haven't had this issue at all. Regardless of all the great features it has, I do use it as my primary phone line and have excellent reception and phone service.

How come my phone misses gmails, sometimes I have to go to gmail and hit refersh to get my incoming emails, anyone know why?

The first thing that comes to mind is your syncing settings. I have both Auto Sync and Background Data checked in Accounts and Sync. You also may want to check your phone sync settings in your gmail account itself. Open your gmail, hit the menu button on your phone, then go to More, Settings, and tap on the name of your gmail account under Account Settings. Go to Sync Inboxes and Labels and check your frequency settings there. I hope this helps :)

I have the 3d, my wife has the Shift, If I had to do it all over,I would get the Shift, the 3d does not get the get the reception that the Shift gets, there are issues with bluetooth that seems to have almost an off frequency problem,it's not just my phone but other 3d phones, have switched bluetooths and tried other peoples 3d phones and same sound, and switching to wifes Shift is crystal clear. I travel quite extensively and have noticed the signal is not as good and as the Hero or shift and download speeds are sometimes better than Shift.
I am not a Samsung fan at all,so Samsung is out of question for me as well as the iphone 4s unless iphone 5 comes out my next phone will be a Motorola or Shift.
As far as Sprint goes, been here for 12 yrs, they have their quirks but others carriers have theirs as well.
I would stay til contract ends and go elsewhere and deal with what you got.

I tried that, but no luck, everything was checked, I have had this problem before, for some reason it will not sync sometimes, and now its getting annoying, color me frustrated.

It wasn't simply about having everything checked, it was about frequency settings as well for each folder. Just trying to help :)

Androidalltheway, I thought you liked your EVO 3D. Appears you have issues regardless of device. Apparently, you were successful in getting yet another one after you traded your last one and got the Photon and didn't like it either. I will let the link below speak for itself.

And this is the reason I am losing my gold premier status. Thanks. I have had no issues with this phone except for a small light leak which I got swapped out in less than 10mins. If you don't like the 3vo, sell it on craigslist and move along don't spam the forum with unless info

The evo 3d has better call quality than my 4g and my gfs shift ant the arrive and i have no bt issues. At some point you may need to look at user error. Time for football, NASCAR and a fried turkey and beer see yall

I am on my second EVO 3D. For me it's a great device for everything but phone calls. I know there are plenty of people out there with reception and call issues and plenty that do not have any issues. My kids phones are up for renewal in a couple of weeks and there is no way I would buy another EVO 3D. Its just not worth the crap shoot for me.

Had an EVO, "upgraded" to the Galaxy S2, found out the hard way that Sprint changed their 30 day return policy to 15 (on the 29th day). The wonderful Sprint store manager, Caroline, waived the new policy for me and put me in an EVO3d right there. Set it up and I was out the door inside of 30 minutes. That samsung was awful. Nothing on it worked right except the 1080p video. That was pretty sweet......

However, the HTC Sense system has spoiled me rotten, and I'm happy to be back in familiar waters. The phone works better than the previous two offerings, and so does the voice recognition feature. WiFi is also improved and the graphics are amazing. 3d is cool too.

It's just like my old EVO, just a little faster and better. Highly recommend!!
(wish it had a kickstand)

The 3d function is kinda cool, but only for the first few days, after that, you'll even forget about it cause you don't really have a way to share that with people unless they have another evo 3d or thru twin pic. There not too many 3d movies available to watch and the ones available are really expensive and they're only available to purchase, not to rent. I've tried to watch movies in 3d through YouTube, but you get kinda bored of just browsing. Maybe it's just me. If you're not a big gamer, I'd say go with the HTC Evo Design.

If I could do it all over I would probably get this phone again. Its very powerful and I have no real issues. Anything you don't like can be swapped out with an app. It runs lightning fast.

Sense is beautiful and runs smoothly on this phone. The only real issue is battery but that is to be expected from virtually any smartphone without root at this point in the game

I honestly don't know why anyone would let the 3D aspect be a deterrent. The entire UI is not in 3D, you only use it if you turn it on to record video or take pictures in 3D. You never even have to use that feature if you don't want to. I originally got this phone for its specs and the 3D part is an added bonus. I have found myself using it a lot more than I thought I would! ;)

My wife and I just switched from another carrier last week and we both got 3D's. Call quality is absolutely horrible to the point today I had to hang it up and call her on a land line because I couldn't understand what she was saying. Even then, her phone sounded distant and vague.
I'm going to return it and look at something else, or try another carrier.

Just got my Evo 3D 2-3 weeks ago and I'm loving it. I'm coming from an EVO 4G and this phone is just a lot smoother and sleaker than my 4G. The screen is gorgeous and Sense UI works great as usual. Only gripes I have about the phone is:

1. Although the screen is the same size as my original Evo (4.3inches), it just feels smaller... I know its slightly taller but I dunno, I wish they had kept it a little wider.

2. The Speaker on it is pretty weak, I mean I never expected it to be super loud but its definitely noticeable weaker, so if you like to stream or play music through the speaker grill, fair warning that the loudness will leave you less than impressed.

Other than that, a very solid phone... I'd recommend it.

i'll put it this way

i had the original evo

since getting my evo 3d the day of launch i have

1. kicked myself in the ass for using my upgrade on this phone

2. tried to trade back for my evo 4g

3. tried to trade for a nexus s

4. considered selling it on ebay, using my hero (yes i still have one sitting around lol) until i find a good deal on a used galaxy s2

3g is about useless since i got it

random reboots? first is was because the battery didn't fit right, after fixing that with a business card, i get a OTA update. then it starts random rebooting because of software issues. its only about once a day, but still annoying

there was a OTA prompt on my phone one morning, it said if you "choose cancel, you can still update by going to ..." i hit cancel because i wasn't sure what the update was, then i find out it was for radio tweaks that users have reported helping their data speeds. I try to do the update manually as the phone suggested and it says "no software updates found"

the screen will randomly become unresponsive, this only happens maybe once a week, but i have to pull the battery to fix it because even when the prompt for shutting down the phone comes up i cannot select restart

the wifi randomly drops, it will be doing great then about every 5 mins it will lose connection then reconnect

i never got the market update that everyone else did, i had to manually download the apk

sense gives me problems alot, especially if someone calls and i try to slide the answer bubble to the ring, it will not let me put it in the ring sometimes causing me to miss the call

the worst part is all of these problems are random, so i cant prove anything is wrong with the phone. when i am at the sprint store it will not act up, so i just look like some chump in there trying to get a new phone for no reason

all in all this phone has been a dick lol, its like it tries to piss me off

in short, i don't hate my evo 3d, but i feel it is inferior to all the other phones in its class. if it doesn't get better with ICS then its going on craigslist or ebay
