edit: after testing this multiple times, it worked good for the prevail but it seems to be worse for the warp... So I guess they changed something since then... there might be a way to do faster 3g but I'm going to trash this post...

Just like the prevail you must be rooted... If you haven't rooted and tried it it will reset it back to normal...

First do this to get the MSL code
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nE3zXoAYJ9E

follow them instuctions...

Then same thing like the prevail

Dial ##3282#
Enter your MSL number

a menu will then pop up, scroll to others, scroll to multimedia. Change the ones that say proxy address to 0.0.0.0 then exit (there's two of them ;D)
RTSP Proxy address changes from:

rtsp.vog.sprintpcs.com

to:
0.0.0.0
and
HTTPPD Proxy address changes from:

pd.vog.sprintpcs.com

to:
0.0.0.0
Let me know how this works for you!

Just want to add that the info on how to find your MSL code at the link below does not work.

http://androidforums.com/htc-hero-s...thout-calling-sprint-using-cmda-workshop.html

Follow those instructions, but when you view LogCat hit Menu, then set a filter on the word "code" without the quotes. That will probably turn up 2 codes. In my case the first 6 digit code turned out to be my MSL.

Also, on Warp with Android 2.3.5 you can only try to enter an MSL twice and if you fail both times then the phone will automatically reboot.

As for whether these suggested proxy and RTSP tweaks work, I don't know.

Ok I can confirm that deleting the HTTP proxy works, not sure how much faster it is, but a test phone can still surf the Web with the proxy deleted. Your mileage may vary. Use this at your own risk:

- Go to ##3282#
- Choose Edit
- Enter your MSL code (see previous posts in this thread to get your MSL)
- Select Multimedia
- Select HTTPPD Proxy
- Delete the proxy, which is probably set to pd.vog.sprintpcs.com
- Click Ok
- Select Menu
- Select Save
- Hit the Back button to exit back to the dialer screen
- Reboot the phone
- Surf the Web without using the Sprint proxy ;-)

AND - it looks like deleting the RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol) Proxy works too, or at least I tested by deleting it then viewing YouTube and CNN live streaming videos.

This was more of an After and Before test, but you get the idea. After editing the proxies, I got this:

speedtestedit.png

191ms Ping
810kbps D/L
177kbps U/L

I then went back to original proxy settings, and ran it again. Got:
speedtestnoedit.png

192ms Ping
343kbps D/L
310kbps U/L

Interesting that original proxy settings with the lower download speed allow for a higher upload speed.

I ran repeated tests over about half an hour. What I found is that it varies greatly. Fastest DL was 1.4Mbps - which is screamin' fast for a phone in my opinion. But I also had tests that were in the 500Kbps range.

Thing is, no single test shows average speed because it depends on network congestion, signal strength, and other factors.

So I can't get my MSL number....the aLOGcat program just keeps running and running. I paused it and searched w no results. Anyone else have the same issue??

same with me! anyone work fine and fund the MSL to enter edit menu? run the alogcat can find the log come out. but 2nd time nothing dislay on the screen just blank.

If you type in ##3282#/ then press view/ then press and hold down the home button/ press on alogcat/ then press pause/ then search for code you will come with
D/QC_NV_ITEM(23225): getSecCODE()
D/QC_NV_ITEM(23225):sec_code_five digit number"
D/QC_NV_ITEM(23225):sec_code_five digit number"
One of the two sets of five numbers will be your MSL code. It was the first number for me. Hope this helps.:D
