The camera isn't awesome. This isn't one of those phones that can replace your point and shoot. Funny thing is, the GSII makes a great camera, so I'm starting to think that Google is specifically asking for low-spec cams on the Nexus models for some reason (you might remember that the Nexus S had a sub-par camera, too). Color balance is weird, shots are hazy and compressed, and I was just generally underwhelmed. Here's the bright spot: the shutter lag is utterly nonexistent. It's so nonexistent, in fact, that I thought something was wrong after I took the first couple pictures. Autofocus is lightning quick, too. I know that Apple really talked up camera speed with the 4S, but the Nexus runs circles around it — I'm assuming that's partly Android 4.0's doing, but I'd imagine the hardware has some role in that as well.
