***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

But we all know that nothing is certain unless it's officially announced. I would think that people can judge the credibility of a source themselves, but credibility =/= reliability or accuracy... I just relayed the information I was given and assumed it was reliable but, as it turns out, it wasn't.

Yep, that is the problem you assumed. You just dont get it, anyway i am done trying here. You keep doing what you do and someday you will understand. Good luck to you my friend. Time to move on from this.

I think it's time to calm down folks. This borderline insulting people by judging their credibility is going to get the attention of Those On High. We don't want to ruffle any feathers... and they're leaving us alone because of our self-restraint and rare good grace in the face of no Nexus news at all.

I would hope we can keep it that way :)

Right now at this very moment I am regretting not grabbing that Rezound from Costco for $50. Then I start to think when the GNex comes out and I am reading how AMAZING it is, I would have kicked myself for not waiting. Talk about a dilemma!

Can someone tell me if you need to fully charge a phone before first time use? That's what the sales reps advised me previously with my other phones.

Wait..

Just curious as to what, besides what the sales representatives are saying, points to the SGN being "further pushed back", as in after the first of the new year??

On the other hand we have an official VZW statement that says it will be out this year and numerous advertising leaks including the Nov 28th chart, the Dec 8th release from authorized retailers, and the best buy pages being up and running with pricing??

I havent even posted in this thread until last night (lurking since before Hong Kong announcement) but I think logically there is much much more pointing to this being released this year and no evidence what so ever, besides word of mouth from sales reps, that it has in fact been 'pushed back further'..

I do a factory reset and then fully charge the phone. Especially reset.

Plenty of charts have been leaked throughout the process. One showed the gnex releasing on the 17th of November. We know how that turned out. Either these charts at one time reflected Verizon's plan and became outdated, or they were fabricated to begin with. Either way, not reliable sources of information.

The point I think is that nothing right now is very reliable. We could argue the official Verizon announcement of "later this year" is, but how many times did they push back the Bionic release? (Q1, then summer, then, fall...) So I wouldn't put much stock into that either. I think the most compelling evidence is the fact that the Gnex is ready. GSM users can pick it up, its getting rave reviews, it was announced long ago, and yet we still do not have it. We just have to ask why, and the most compelling reason seems to be the fact that the Gnex is less profitable of a device for Verizon compared to the RAZR and Rezound, so waiting for the end of the holiday season makes the most sense from a corporate, "money rules all" perspective.

Just opened as fortune cookie and it said "your patience will soon be rewarded". Now I totally believe it is coming out in the next two weeks.
Then my wife didn't want hers so I opened that one too. It said "he who hurries cannot walk with dignity" now that one means.... Well I don't really know what that means but it sure sounded insightful.

I feel like someone else shared their fortune cookie a while ago (pre-11/18) and it said something similar... don't mean to burst your bubble ;)

I can't wait until the first part of this week to see how much everything has changed here on this forum. The smiling faces the cheers the 'oh my God I can't wait I will be the first one in line'....

3 days so far of the gravy train of retail sales being missed, and this was not what Verizon invisioned for the release of GNex. There comes a point in the shopping season (say 12/11 or so) where if you have not at least made an major advertisement push (which would include an announcement) you may as well pack it all up and not waste your money. What I am trying to say is, you will get your announcement very very soon and you will get your phone soon after the only caveat I put on this prediction is if the phone is ready.

If the phone isn't ready then you may want to thank Verizon for taking one for it's consumers and missing out on millions in holiday sales and not releasing a sub par phone.

I wish I agreed with you, but I don't. My suspicion is that the phone *is* ready, but to release it will kill off most of the Razor RezoundT sales. VZW cares about contracts, and keeping Moto (especially), and HTC happy. They will still sell a slew of razors and RezoundT's, and garner a corresponding slew of 2 year contract$.

I would believe, perhaps, that they will sell a lot more of the Galaxy Nexus devices. Is it possible (just a guess here, no inside info), that VZW is worried that its 4G network isn't ready for the onslaught of 4G users that will jam the network when the GNex drops?

VZW has a stellar reputation in regards to their network. I could see them doing whatever was necessary to protect that, including the delay of the best ever Android phone, and including whizzing in the Wheaties of Google and Samsung.

Again, I am just 'whiteboarding' here, I have no information to back up this theory. If you don't like it, blame VZW. If they would just release the phone, I would be playing with it right now, instead of posting in the GNex pre-release thread.

I still would like to know what's so bad about sense and how it's that different than my current phone. I played around with the Rezound and loved it, but playing with a new toy for a few minutes at a store would be very different than living with it. My son has an Incredible but won't let me touch it. Teenagers!

That's because teenage boys have things on their phones their moms shouldn't be seeing ;)

Didn't I suggest to somebody who needed a QB in fantasy that Fitzpatrick was an excellent choice? ;) I do believe a post after mine said they'd rather take their infant daughter over Mr. Fitz, haha.

excellent choice? i guess if you're just picking scraps off the waiver wire, in which case cam newton would've been a better choice if available. where's fitz been the previous 3 weeks.

as for people getting on highschool semi-spoiled brat ;) scotts case..let him be. we didn't rag on any of the regular posters when their sources didn't come through. yes everything's been rumors and speculation, your choice to believe it or not. that's all. i appreciate all the info people get about the droid prime :) or whatever we're calling it this week. some makes me laugh, some makes me hope, some pisses me right off..but that's what this thread is here for, right?

Not sure the 4G network load argument really makes sense because they are doing everything they can (Double Data and Advertising) to push their 4G lineup.

Burst my bubble? Two people getting similar fortunes in this thread. What more confirmation does one need? Its not as if these things are mass printed in some factory somewhere. It must be a sign. :)

Not even a little bit upset.

Just don't complain to me about the inflight movie if you're ever on my flight. I can't control that either. :D

Now if you don't like my landing feel free to complain. You wouldn't be the first! :)

Ha! I *enjoy* exciting landings, so long as there is no injury involved. Like I said, I fly infrequently, so my eyeballs are usually glued to the window, and not the movie. My favorite flights are those that encounter turbulence. I feel like I haven't gotten my money's worth if I don't feel a couple of 'stomache in my throat' drops and g-force lifts!

I like it... I think the second one is a reminder that it's 'undignified' for all of us to get our panties in a twist and rag on eachother, and for any reason, because we are frustrated and impatient.

Same here just whiteboarding also. I like to think that their position on the iPhone for so many years they learned from it and after seeing how many folks flocked to them when they finally got the iPhone made a lasting impression. I can go to any of the other networks and get a GSII which is getting tons of Samsung money flung at it. Maybe I just can't see how Verizon could be that narrow minded about it's sales especially after learning some important lessons w/ the iPhone, to buy into the whole r-phone scheme.

I truly think they had issues w/ the testing and then it takes some time if they get the all clear to ramp up some advertising and sales material and pick an ideal day for release.

Heck maybe it is a bit of both and we may never know but it is fun to postulate.

It is all based on rumors so it should not be passed off as factual.

Eh, I ponder that some folks like to put their guesses forward like that and hope it comes true so they can gain some kind of credibility or an "I told you so".
You will learn to see it coming and just scroll on by the post.

If they've seen some of my landings, they wouldn't be complaining about yours.

Glock guy eh? Whacha got? Depending on the duty I carry a 2nd Gen 17 or 21, and a 3rd gen 19.
