***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I agree, I would love to see the changelog. Anyone think we can get that?

Didn't P3 get this update? Maybe someone could convince him to fill us in. I'd be pissed if it was a just a minor bug fix...

If I recall correctly, the last "insider report" just before the 17th was that 5 days of testing were typically required for a build to be approved. That was in anticipation of a Nov 21st launch.

Let's hope that yesterday's revision was minor, just enough to address whatever bugs were found the first time around, and it's smooth and F A S T sailing to release.

It would be reasonable for testing to finish in about 5 days, ship devices to store in another 2 or 3 days, right on time for a 12/8 release... (wishful thinking?)

Good morning, who's ready for 10am announcement time?

That would absolutely make my day. I woke up this morning and naively thought that MAYBE I would just happen to be lucky and find the pre-order teaser up on the VZW site. Obviously, I was very sadly mistaken... :(

What if they lose count halfway through verifying it... It would just mean you have to wait that much longer. :p

It depends how aggressive Verizon wants to push it.

During the BlackBerry Storm release in '08, there was a last minute OS update. Stores returned most of their stock to some central Verizon location to flash the phones, but a bunch were either flashed or OTA updated in-store for immediate sale, and new stock was overnighted in to keep the inventory replenished. (And as much of a dog as that phone was, initial anticipation and demand was pretty high.)

But then again, no stores have any inventory as best we know, so perhaps this is a moot point.

So would that have been in advance of the volume bug? Not that P3 would have been exposed to that problem (presumably).

P3 has said on multiple occasions his phone has never experienced the problem. I think it was a confirmed problem related to the 2G freq overseas, so VZWs being CDMA/LTE, that makes sense. Only thing that has me worried is after P3 got that update, he started his delay talk again. But with the release being flexible, no rumor is based on any set in stone fact.

Good morning everyone. Well all this wait made me a little upset, and I have decided to take a different direction. I made the jump and ordered a Nokia N9. Received it yesterday, and it is an absolutely gorgeous phone. Played with it all day yesterday setting things up and loading applications. I already knew going in to it that there is no where near as many apps for Mego as there are for Android or iOS, but every application that i need I was able to find in Ovi Store. Good luck to all of you. Hopefully Verizon will release the SGN very soon to everyone that is still waiting. Good luck to you all.

Has anyone read phonedogs aarons first impression of the galaxy nexus? I have to admit I'm a little concern..poor battery life and at times sluggish performance

Eh, I'm not too concerned. That's why you have to look across multiple reviews and also other user experiences (at least with GSM versions). Other reviews peg the battery life to be rather average for a smartphone of that caliber, and others have said performance has been rather good. Also I wouldn't use any of the current reviews to gauge battery life as LTE will be sure to be less then ideal for most. At least you can swap out batteries or hopefully an extended battery will be available for those that want it.

I have found battery life can vary widely depending on your location. I have always.found reviews on poor battery life don't correlate to my experience, but I live in an area with excellent coverage.

Right, that's what I'm saying -- not that P3 would have experienced the volume problem here, but assuming 4.0.2 is the fix for it, and assuming Samsung would want to fix it on all devices regardless of radio type, I'm wondering if P3 had 4.0.2 on his device prior to the volume bug being public?

Of course, there is a good chance Samsung was aware of the volume bug prior to it becoming public, and they held further shipments until they could verify the cause and work out a solution. I'd accept that as a plausible explanation for Verizon's delay.

My Verizon Store in Tampa FL has the "Nexus Prime" advertised for release this morning when they open. I'll update everyone if they can deliver...Don't know if a manager jumped the gun of if its a soft opening? Anyone else hear this?

Fingers crossed in Tampa!

Where at in tampa? I live in clearwater. I may take a trip to the verizon on gulf to bay today if true. At this rate I could have gotten a galaxy s II, rooted the crapware off it and been done with it. I may end up waitig a while it seems like nexus phones seem to have some issue out of the gate. I had a nexus s 4 g that had the receptions problems and it was three months before they ever came out with a fix for it.

Btw, does anyone know if they still have the google voice integration crap on it? On the nexus, my texts and email were fubar which is a problem because I communicate with my service via texts when Im working.

Morning lick! I'm ready, willing and wanting!

Ah, cripes, is it morning already?!?

Yes, yes it is. It comes around so fast.

But a little chaos is very entertaining. ;-)

And little is. A lot is not. :D

Same here. My battery drains faster at home, even when not being used much, than at work.

Nope this one :)

Personal opinion: its too square for my tastes. I like the rounded corners on phones. BUT that's why so many designs are out there. Make the masses happy with choices. Now if VZW would just make me happy..... *sigh*
