***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I've missed out on most of this brewing discussion since I'm kind of in the middle of dealing with quiting and whatnot. But any micro from CO or WA/OR is top notch. If you think Fat Tire, Easy Street, 90Schilling etc are '"ok", get new taste buds. Playin' of course ;)

First off, I don't know the reasons why you are quitting (none of my business), but fully support your decision.

I'm laying off just for unnecessary calories.

Not that it matters, but Pliney the Yonger gets a perfect score on Beer Advocate. The highest rated beer ever. It really is that good. Fat Tire by comparison only manages a solid B.

Yeah, and I get that. I explained to them that I have no problem keeping the Rezound and the double data if the Nexus isn't released by the extended return date. But they said even if I'm within the return date, and the promo is over, they wouldn't allow me to stay on that plan.

IDK, seems a bit cold to me.

Hmm.

Well, we know that plans aren't tied to contracts, nor are devices. So unless returning the phone for a different phone somehow "resets" the contract, I can't see how this is correct.

IE. You can change phones whenever you would like without modification to your plan given that it supports your current plan. (Can't have an "advanced device" without data, etc)
You can also change your plan whenever you would like given that your phone supports it. IE you can change minutes/features etc.

Neither of those two things seem tied to the contract.

I would consult someone else. I can understand them not wanting to commit to an odd situation. If you worked in the call center you should have some idea what reps can and can't do. I can understand someone not wanting to make you promises that they may not be able to fulfill, but I'm guessing someone can. Retention can normally do things that your regular CSR's cant if it gets to that ... but threatening to cancel over and over garners no favors and in general changes the mood of the conversation.

Verizon likes Thursdays...

This x1000

I think some of it was that VZW programmers were working on getting the Charge GB and then had to knock out any bugs with Google on the GN.

I couldn't see them releasing the "first Android 4.0 phone....that doesn't work that well". The tech community would have a media field day.

Interesting to see the developements here, and good to know I'm not the only one with 1% or 1st World problems...lol

Has anyone noticed that Verizon wouldn't really upload press shots of the GNex without a reason? What I mean is, why would they choose to upload them today of all days if there wasn't something happening tonight... ;)

Your optimism is truly inspiring.

I just asked him about it, they're just the email you get when you activate your GNex with your Google account. He's not sure why it came so late, but I don't think it's anything more than that. UK owners got the same email.
