But i wonder if these case will fit on the vzw version of the phone. I know its not a huge difference but it is definitely bigger.

I bought the TPU case, it was supposed to arrive today but didn't, not that it matters. Unfortunately I won't be able to answer the question of does it fit the LTE, but they say they built it for the LTE version so I'd assume it does.

Went into Best Buy today and asked to speak to the manager. I said, "Do you have the Galaxy Nexus in?," just to see what he would say. He said, "Yup. We sure do. Follow me." I ALMOST PASSED OUT WITH EXCITEMENT...until he took me to the Galaxy TAB. :p Hilarious little mix up!

I love clueless workers. I once went into a Whole foods and asked for microgreens, specifically microspinach. He looked at me like I was crazy, and showed me those nasty microwaveable leafy vegetable packages.

luckily for those of us with unlimited plans this is true, but being grandfathered into an unlimited plan is coming to an end in march from what we hear.

if they choose to take away unlimited, they can forget about me and my other 4 lines ever signing a contract with them again. i'm sure i am not the only one with this opinion either.

I was told you should NOT switch to a non-smartphone. Doing so will trigger the limited data plan once you switch back to a smartphone...That is what the person told me from the corporate store near me yesterday when I asked about activating a feature phone until the nexus arrives (since my dinc is dead). He said it had to be a smart phone (luckily, my mom has an old blackberry I can use). I'm afraid you might have screwed yourself out of unlimited data :(

No worries man, I didn't have unlimited data before. I had the 2gb plan as I just got off (crappy) ATT a little over a month ago. But, when I returned my Amazon bought Bionic, the VZW rep told me that I could not keep my double data plan when switching to a 3g phone (the Dare) so she notated my account saying that I had double data, and to reinstate it when the Nexus came out just in case the Nexus was released after the promotion ended. I rented a Rezound because non-smart phone life was killing me. But the point is, I kept a 2gb plan on a dumbphone, why wouldn't you be able to keep your grandfathered unlimited plan?

SolidOrange - I go to VT. I am looking forward to Saturday, should be a much better game than the first time we met!

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like 1eyes has just been trolling the past couple of days repeating as fact the various previous rumors we have been accumulating here...

I don't know, the fact that he is saying what we already know and doesn't expect anything in return leads me to believe maybe he is telling the truth, or at least what he believes to be true. If he were trolling he would try to get us all worked up by saying something like "Confirmed, Galaxy Nexus delayed until next year due to critical bugs."

Same here.
If they change the contract, then it's in essence cancelling my contract on their end, right?
So, I'd be out free and clear with a nice expensive piece of hardware, and no cancellation fee.
Sounds good to me!

Three different reps have checked for me and said people grandfathered in will NOT lose unlimited data.As long as you were on it before July 7th.

Why? Based on his whopping 4 conflicting posts? Or his origination day of yesterday? Or his completely secretive persona? Or his failure to share anything new?

Or that he goes into hiding right after posting?

He's given more concrete information that any other sources so far. Excluding Hanette.

Sure he could give a little more info on how he gets his info, but maybe he likes his job. There was a guy NKT in the incredible thread that came up w/ great info at times. He never hung around all day posting inane crap.

The fact that he doesn't hang around here chatting all day should actually be a plus to his credentials.

I would sue him for false advertising! ;)

yep. to make a change to the terms of your contract, they must give you the option to leave.

i dont think they are talking about changing the contract for those who are currently in unlimited, but rather ending the grandfathering into it. so the next time you sign a contract, grandfathering wont be allowed. there was talk that purchasing the phones unsubsidized may be a workaround because you wouldnt be signing a new contract only continuing your current one, but all of this is still in the works and being talked through

If you want out of your contract set up an alert over at slick deals, there's characters over there that watch for stuff that would allow you to bail without an ETF. You see it come up all the time

Do you have a source for this info?

EDIT: Just read your last post, so come March, if I go to upgrade any time after I'll lose my unlimited data unless I buy a new phone out right? That's pretty lame.

Probably get ninja'd but britishturbo was asked on twitter:

@britishturbo There's talk about the 8th being preorder only. Any emails come your way with that being said? Or is the 8th launch day?

To which he replied:

@ericsckane everything still says launch day. I guess we'll see :)

Do you (or anyone) know how to just drop one line? My daughter's a $10 add on, and I want to get her onto a different carrier with a smartphone, and cheaper data....

So that puts him on par, if not better than most of the other extremely vague 'The Sources' around here.

I don't know if he/she is a legitimate tester or just someone looking for attention, but I will say that it isn't really reassuring for any "source" of information when everyone bags on the people offering up what they know. There have been a bunch of testers on this site in the past and many of them handed out some really great information, but most of them didn't want to post in the open forum due to exactly what is happening with this.

If you don't believe someone, that is fine. There isn't any reason to jump all over someone because they aren't willing to reveal everything they know or post pictures or their drivers license. Most of the people that do post are under an NDA and what they are doing could cost them their jobs or even get them a court date. So be nice and accept what people say or ignore it, but don't bash over it.

Guys, you're all misunderstanding this whole grandfathering thing... I think it means that if you are already grandfathered into unlimited you'll be fine, but they won't let anyone else into unlimited after this supposed date. Basically, unless you were grandfathered before they ended unlimited plans in [July?], you won't be able to get unlimited data now.
