I'm seriously getting sick and tired of hearing all these people calling the RAZR a rental phone until the Nexus comes out. I guarantee you guys, the Nexus won't be all that. All it has going for it is ICS and that won't mean anything after the RAZR gets it too. Don't like the RAZR? Go back to your iPhone 4 if the RAZR is a "serious downgrade".

Only reason I'm on my Razr is because I sold my iPhone 4 while it held onto resale value ($400, which is awesome)

Only reason I didn't go with the 4S on my upgrade is because I wanted to try out Verizon 4G and it is NICE.

Only reason I'm not going right back to 4S is because Galaxy Nexus is coming soon (and will have 4G). The Galaxy doesn't need to be iOS. It just needs to be a FINISHED SOFTWARE product. Gingerbread clearly is not and does not and will never feel like it with its lag filled heaven.

The Razr has hardware issues, and they can't be fixed by ICS. Non-removeable battery is no problem (iPhones) but Weak non-removeable battery... I feel bad for you owners who are going to be getting your batteries replaced because you will have gone through 200 charge cycles in less than a year. Who's going to do it? Motorola? Verizon? Both are completely worthless companies from customer service.

Terrible sound jack. Inferior screen. Dropping radio (A motorola issue?). It also has a weaker CPU & GPU. There's basically no reason to own one next to a Nexus because everything is worse than the Nexus.

Except thinness. And um... removeable SD card. (Which is becoming more and more pointless with everything being Cloud-based now).

I find it funny how defensive owners become of their purchase decisions. Well I must be the exception because owning owe doesn't mean jack when I can turn it around and return it or sell it. And it feels completlely like I went from a Mercedes (iPhone 4) to a Hyundai. Yes, the Hyundai has some new features in it, but it's just clearly a downgrade in experience. The only issue people have of upgrading to a 4S is that it make it feel like a more expensive Mercedes, not the Bentley we all wanted it to be (an iPhone 5). Well I'm hoping the Galaxy Nexus will be a good high end alternative, maybe a nice change of pace with a Porsche, while I'm waiting for the iPhone 5 to drop to get the Bentley experience.

I'm done with the Motorola experience for sure and forever after this one.

Sorry mz, but you are coming across purely as pumping the Nexus up while using the Razr as pure fodder. Thankfully, your view is not shared by too many folks (including reviews of the device).

I hope you enjoy your Nexus as much as you enjoyed being negative about the Razr. Should be a beast in that regard ;)

I OWN the Razr. There's nothing to pump up lol. It's laggy, battery drains like mad, it drops data signals, the headphone jacks are bad, the camera is worse than my iPhone 4, it doesn't have a host of features I was spoiled with on my iPhone...

Basically I downgraded to get a very fast modem (4G LTE), now I don't want to give up this fast modem (I just stick it into my laptop and I can tether with PDANet like I'm on WiFi) so my only choice is the Galaxy Nexus if I have any hopes of regaining any real smartphone useability.

Worst case, I give up 4G until iPhone 5 but there's no way I would keep the Razr with its problems when there's better Verizon phones out there.

Next time you're scrolling through a website on your Razr and lagging the whole way through, you can be comforted by the fact that iPhones have had smooth scrolling and pinch/zoom for about... 3 years now and your brand new Razr can't even browse the web competently.

what do you mean terrible sound jack? once the nexus comes out, there will be something better too, thats how the technology world works, its not like furniture, which stays in style for 10 years. camera is less than mediocre, worse than my thunderbolt, but oh well :). also, mine is not laggy at all!!! so i'm not sure why you bought it? you had the oportunity to try it in the store, read reviews, and read the specs online? so again, why did you buy it if you are so disgruntled about it?

I don't know how you use your phones but my RAZR has been lag-free since the first day and that includes scrolling on web pages. My battery also seems pretty damn good, I've been using it moderately today and it has gone a little over 8 hours and it's at 30% (wasn't using smart actions until 35% battery left). Like I said, if you don't like Android-based phones (I'm pretty sure you'll hate the Nexus too), just go get a 4S. And just FYI, if you're gonna complain about the RAZR battery draining too fast, then why don't you look into the battery issues that the 4S is having?

Oh, and I have no problems with my headphone jack either.

Not sure why I'm taking the bait- maybe getting stuck in traffic today lit the fuse but what the hell...

A- Battery life- 10-20 hours average a day. Seems like you have no idea how to manage your phone's resources.

B- Zero lag- I repeat, Zero Lag. Seems like you have no idea how to manage your phone's resources.

C- Radio Drops- Nope. Sorry.

D- Build quality- If you think the Samsung Nexus will be equal in quality to your old 4 or the Razr, you are officially clueless.

E- Verizon Customer Service- They have always bent over backwards to take care of me. Maybe they don't like you. Couldn't think why.

F- "I find it funny how defensive owners become of their purchase decisions. " If YOU don't think you've gone out of your way to provoke them try reading some of your posts.

On an unrelated topic...
Have you noticed how cool the Nexus looks ? ;-)

Not having the issues you are and calling the camera "worse" than the iPhone 4 kind of telegraphs your intent. The iPhone camera is a very good camera and the Razr has a good camera. Describing as worse and the issues you articulate seem over-dramatic. So you say the iPhone 4S does not lag and does not drain battery, depending on what settings and data pushing you are doing (just like the Razr). The iPhone 4S lags some and has well documented battery issues.

Not seeing the Razr lag or battery issues you assert either. Neither has most users I know and in threads, nor the reviews published. Seems your device is messed and needs a factory reset. I can not help but notice no apparent effort to correct the issues- only an absolute bias and condemnation.

Not buying this stuff- especially since based on reviews of the Nexus, it is not much better than the Razr and weaker in other areas AND IS NOT EVEN OUT YET, but you tout the Nexus and 4S as little saviors.

I guess 1+1=3, since makes as much sense.

These are mobile phones, not objects of religious devotion. At the same time, if you don't believe in a particular one, it's still disrespectful and unconstructive to bad-mouth it in one of its 'temples'. Bad analogy I know but I'm sure you get my point.... differences of opinion are fine, but if you're dead-set against something then it's better to just move on.

Since nobody ever sees anything wrong or laggy (This is ANDROID) lol, I had nothing better to do but make a video and show you (Sunday football woohoo):

1) Unresponsive touch (This kills me)
2) Scrolling choppiness (this has been the case since forever on Android, but is NOT present on the SGS2 or hopefully GNex)
3) LAG LAG LAG. Browser stops responding to touch. Browser also fails to open without a few seconds of delay if there's a website loaded already. In this case, I only loaded Anandtech.com

So please, stop deceiving yourselves. I own this device and if it WAS perfect, I wouldn't be returning it for a Gnex/iPhone 4S. I mean, all the reviews talk about the lag that appears on this phone, especially scrolling and intermittent unresponsiveness for opening apps. What IS inexcuseable however is the touch unresponsiveness and inaccuracy - often it interprets a swipe left or right as a press (and opens the app), and often it ignores it altogether. Next to my iPad 2, it feels like all the problems the OG Droid had, now it's just jacked on 1.2ghz steroids for faster operations but similarly unsmooth and haphazardly unresponsive experience.

If you have never used an Exynos based Galaxy S2, you'd be willing to blame it on Gingerbread, but nope! That thing runs Gingerbread and is smooth like iOS. It's Motorola's UI, it's something with Motorola, or it's just not Exynos... hard to say. Good riddance Motorola, you are a decade of fail that needed Google to rescue you, and even then I have no hope for your untalented software and hardware developers.

http://img16.imageshack.us/flvplayer.swf?f=Pay4

FYI - nothing is "running" at all. I don't use anything special on my phone except push email, Maps/Navigation when it's needed, and then I open apps as I want to use them.

Settings - Facebook - Battery Circle - Google Services - Sync Service - Google Voice - Maps - Weather - Backup assistant - IM - Multitouch keyboard

Basically nothing that takes up CPU cycles

I would love to catch a video of data dropping out and NOT returning to either 3G or 4G requiring a hard reboot, but I hardly carry my camera with me, there's a thread on droidforums.net thats a million pages long detailing this.

Or hook up the audio jack and let you listen to the white whine and static. Or you can read the other threads about people having problems with their audio jacks.

Or complain that the power button will often be registered twice or not at all.

Or show you the blue tint on the screen or the 25% battery loss in 1 hour of light to moderate usage.

But why bother? You all know it's there...

Sorry mz, but I am not having the issues you are stating and for you to conjecture that all of us do, but are in denial is a tad trollish. I rarely call people that but your rationale and conjecture is asinine.

You are having problems, yet have not tried anything to remedy through a stock reset or try another unit- but DO talk down the device and owners through your rhetoric. All while talking up a device yet to be released. I am done with it. Bye.

I am experiencing none of the issues you are and it seems like alot of others are not either. Perhaps you have a faulty unit. Either way you seem to be misguided if you think the Galaxy Nexus is going to solve your supposed issues.

The browser on the Razr has been proven to be one of the fastest mobile browsers around and it is fast and fluid for me.

Your assertions that the Nexus will have a better touchscreen is also misguided. I own several Samsung devices including the Galaxy S 2 international version and Fascinate and the touchscreens of Samsung are less responsive than either my Razr, Bionic, or Droid X. I have found that Motorola has the most responsive touchscreens around.

Your assertion that the CPU/GPU is better is also false. While the Razr has the 4430 and the Nexus the 4460 they are both clocked at the same exact speed on both the CPU and GPU negating any advantage the Nexus may have. And since the resolution is higher on the Nexus it actually performs slower than the Razr in many areas.

Your assertion that the Galaxy S 2 is less laggy than the Razr is also laughable. I have found the newest version of Motorola's Applications Platform to be the least laggy of the custom skins. As I currently own the Galaxy S 2, Rezound, and Razr, I can directly compare between the three.

Your assertion that the removable SD card is not an advantage because of cloud storage is also laughable. With data caps becoming the norm along with LTE being so fast, cloud storage is just another way for us to hit our cap faster and milk more money out of our pockets when we go over the caps. So on the contrary SD storage is more important now than ever.

Your assertion the radio drops are a Motorola thing are also false. Every single 4G LTE device on Verizon has data drops due to the way Verizon handles the hand off from 3G to 4G. If you think the Nexus will be better in this regard think again. It uses the same radio for 4G as all the other none Moto devices, go ahead and check the other 4G devices and see if the are having drop out issues. Also, look up eHRPD and you might start to understand why Verizon is having drop out issues.

The sound jack on my Razr is no better or worse than any other device I have used and in fact is better than the one on the Rezound. Again, perhaps you have a faulty unit.

The camera on the Nexus is not any better than the one on the Razr and both are inferior than the iPhone so a mute point. If a good camera is important to you than you should be looking at HTC if you want a camera that performs similar to the iPhone.

Your assertion that Google is saving Motorola is also laughable. In case you have not heard this will be the SECOND time Motorola saves Android. Research these two things, where Android was heading before the original Droid was released, and how well Android device manufaturers have been fairing in court against Apple and Microsoft, and maybe you will get a clue.

Battery life is also a non issue. If you think the Nexus will have better battery life than the Razr you are mistaken. And before you say the Razr doesnt have a removable battery, I can carry a spare battery pack that charges the Razr just as easily as I could a spare battery for the Nexus.

If you think the build quality is better on the Nexus you are again mistaken. Take a look at the reviews on the Galaxy Nexus and almost all of them say the Nexus feels cheap.

I will conclude with this. I have had just about every single Android device that Verizon has offered including both smartphones and tablets as well as several smartphones offered on other carriers including the Galaxy S 2. I can say that without doubt the Rarz is easily the best device out of the box that I have ever used. It is unfortunate that you dont like your device but I can tell you that the Nexus is not going to solve the issues you have. Its probably best for you to go back to iOS.

@mzjin: I'm quoting the above post from the Mod in case you missed it in your series of troll-themed posts. We're all sorry that your Razr is having problems. You've said you're returning it either for a GNex or iPhone4S. We get it. Why are you persisting in trashing a phone that is working great for the vast majority of us?

To summarize the Mod's post - MOVE ON already and quit trying to stir things up over here in the Razr forum. I'm sure you'll find a nice home over in the GNex pre-release thread in the GNex forum.

Just so you can see that your beloved iPhone 4S has its own issues. I found things for you to read. They are from iPhone users. Not from a 1-sided android site. How do you explain these Apple Customers experiences?

I dont know if you need more but that is just a few. Seems the 4S is just as bad.......Awww Crap that sucks huh?!

Btw, I mean just as bad as yours. I have none of the issues you have been talking about.

2) Scrolling choppiness (this has been the case since forever on Android, but is NOT present on the SGS2 or hopefully GNex)

If you read this you will understand why the browser lags. The gs2 uses the tile method, this is why it is not choppy while you scroll. Ics on the razr should solve this issue since the stock browser is switching to the tile method. Try downloading opera or firefox for the razr. Both browsers scrolling is pretty smooth.

@jmj3783, thanks for those links.

@mzjin, better yet, look at these forums and not just a couple of the threads that jmj3783 mentioned.

iPhone Tips, Help and Troubleshooting - MacRumors Forums

iPhones do in fact have issues. Almost every thread in that forum is some kind of issue. I know Android has issues as well but what I hate is when iPhone fanboys come onto Android forums and trash talk one of the best Droid phones out today and compare it to an iPhone that clearly has it's own issues. Go troll somewhere else please.
