***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I'm not sure why everyone is so hung up with the 8th vs. week of the 12th release dates and what P3 said vs. what PP said. Although the 8th seems to be the rumor with the most backing, they are all just rumors. Don't take any of these dates as anything official. When I see comments like "so it's not the 8th anymore" or "now it's the week of the 12th", it puzzles me. Remember, Verizon has the final say and nothing is official unless they say so. I'll say it again, Verizon said they will release the phone later this year, meaning by 12/31. Hold onto that date and if it releases anytime earlier, you'll be happy.

Honestly, if you are comfortable with this feeling then you're in the wrong place. This thread wouldn't exist or be nearly as long if we were all ok with "the end of the year" being an acceptable release date.

Sorry if these were answered somewhere in the thread, but two questions I had:

- was the multi-color LED thing every figured out? will it support basically any color (e.g. is it RGB?) or is it just 3/4 separate, discrete colors?

- Did we determine for sure whether the gnex screen is oleophobic or not? I'm hoping it is, because my dinc screen gets downright nasty with prolonged use without a wipe down.

Hey guys,

I got a PM from someone named Garland06, that wanted me to post this because for some reason he wasn't able to.

Thanks for the PM, Garland.

I'm not sure what it's worth, just throwing another log on the fire, that's all.

Argh! Are you serious! There's no way we can take this seriously! Really!? You just had to send it along to Han and create yet another link in the rumor chain!? ahahaha sorry, totally playin but couldnt resist.

as long as you have your phone, you can use the settings at the top of the screen to size the image to fit your current phone (I just increased the screen size until it was a perfect fit), then hold your phone up over the SGN for a comparison....pretty slick site!

Thanks, yeah I had missed those options at the top of the screen :) That works quite well...and man this is going to be a huge difference in size going from dinc -> gnex. But I'll adjust ;)

Now that I re-read the PM, I smell BS. Not necessarily on Garland's part, but possibly from the CSR?

CSR's are bottom feeders on the food chain. There's no way they would have "played with a Nexus".

I caught that too. I'm done measuring the legitimacy of sources/speculation/rumors though. I just soak them all in and consider everything a lie until VZW says otherwise haha. This thread is better than day time television ;)

I believe it is, but I don't have a specific source with the info I can point to off the top of my head.

So your one of those guys ehh....sitting at a stop light enjoying my peaceful music then all the sudden there is an earthquake inside my car and I suddenly develope a massive headache and my car is vibrating to no end...:D

Rock on brother!

Nah, I'm a respectful enthusiast, I turn it down at the stop lights. Cut me off though and that red light will be your worst nightmare! ;)

I prefer to have my hearing when I get older.

You're gonna lose most of it anyways, why not enjoy and actually remember why you lost it? lol :D

hate to be a bother, and this may start a trend, but is there any way you can do this for the Droid 3?

This is awesome! Would you be able to do this for the dinc as well? I think there are quite a few of us rocking the dinc and the size is a concern of mine. Thanks!

I work at a big box retailer who's name rhymes with Blowe's and this is what we recieved 2 days ago. Get your laughs in but they actually have more usefulness then our stand alone computers. HA! I need my nexus so bad!

Good news though, I went to pay my bill at my VZW corp store and I talked with one of my reps and he told me that he has had his Ice Cream Sandwich training but could neither confirm nor deny that the 8th was the launch date. He did say though, that he was hearing both internally and "externally" that the 8th was the day.

I have a galaxy nexus running on T-mobile. Just got it yesterday. I know a lot of other people already have it too and have been answering questions, but if you have any questions, shoot away and I'll gladly answer.

:)

My question is simple -- is it the one to rule them all?? (I mean till the next Nexus come out anyway)

I'm not here to validate or call BS to Garland's information....but in fact a CSR rep or Tech support rep from VZ could have and probably have played with the Nexus by now.

As I stated my son who is a VZ tech support rep works in a large VZ support facility...they have CSR and Tech support personal in the same building and there has been a "Road Show" of sorts going from facility to facility all over the country providing the employees a chance to ask questions and to provide them all with a "hands On" opportunity with all of the latest 4g LTE phones and the Nexus was one of those devices.

As far as the rest of the statement and the CSR's comments, well I have no confirmation if her information is true or not....maybe I will know more when I see my son later this evening.
