LOL Well, the long story is Palm V -> Q -> Q9c -> Omnia -> Imagio -> Dinc -> Tbolt

similar for me, my first smartphone was a Motorola Q when alltel had that unlimited data thing. Then i got the Q9C on a 1year contract and loved it. Then i got the omnia and hated it. except for the wonderful camera.. after that its been Android all the way.

I have never owned an 'official' android tablet though. only a nook color on Cm7 and now my 32GB Hp Touchpad on CM7 too

I have traditionally gone screen protector (I like Steinheil or Boxwave crystal clear - next thing to a naked screen and completely invisible), but caseless since I don't like the added bulk. I am a total fussbudget about scratches and dings. My Dinc was and my Tbolt is pristine. Given the talk about plasticy Samsungs, I ordered a TPU case for my (hopefully non-mythical) Gnex, but I'm not sure if / how long I will use it.

I agree the hide button is ridiculous and getting out of hand. If someone WANTS to use it then fine. But to force everyone to do it is stupid. The OP has ALWAYS said its a lounge type thread and off topic conversations are acceptable and expected. So what is there to complain about? I just don't get it.

How would you feel if you were driving 60mph in a posted 60mph zone, but you got stopped and given a speeding ticket bc despite the sped limit sign, the neighbors said you should have been driving 50mph instead.

I for one refuse to use the hide tag and don't really care if I get banned. The OP says off topic conversation is acceptable donor either is or isn't.

I think it makes perfect sense that there are quite a few of us who are OG Droid holdouts. The OG was a landmark phone, with new-to-market features (turn by turn GPS, anyone? Remember how that was a huge surprise?), and the tech specs were impressive for the time.

What should have tantalized me before the Gnex? When the Dinc came out, my phone was still functioning very well. Honeymoon period, even. I also had to wait until the 2 year contract was up in order to get an upgrade (or 20 months or something).

The Bionic caught my eye, but no NFC + delays to market (and outright inferiority to the GS2, which I wanted), caused me to pass on that device.

Which brings us to th e present. Droid to Gnex. I bet there are a lot of us.

Yep, I'm in about the exact same bout. Been eligible for upgrade and followed bionic news last feb waiting for it. Passed on Bolt, then passed on Bionic as it was delayed way too long. Hoped for GS2 on Verizon then read they passed on it for Gnex. So here I am, waiting since last feb-march for a new phone which will now be the Gnex. These delays have been killing me.

I also pretty much hated the Omnia. I was waiting (and waiting and waiting) for the Omnia II, when I gave up and went for the Imagio. That was the best WinMo phone I ever had or played with!

I'm reading / posting on a Galaxy Tab 10.1 4G that I have as a loaner fron Big Red to check out for work. Really like it, but I want to check out the ATP before I decide what to buy. :D

Anyone have an OG droid they would like to donate?? :) (I would obviously cover all shipping costs). My DX just crapped on me and I officially have no phone!! :(

Edit: I would also have no problem returning it once the Gnex comes out!

My dx died on me a while back, the touch screen would just randomly stop responding and Id have to pull the battery to get it to reboot. I ended up with a droid charge and what a turd that phone's been. Some people act the GB update was the second coming, I still have the same issues. anyone know how the gps is on the nexus? The gps on che charge was awful and would loc me about 1 1/2 miles from where I actually was.

Wow, you pretty much just summed up what happen to mine. It came to a point where I would have to do a battery pull 2-3 times a day. This morning I wake up to a black screen, tried everything- just wont power on. Sucks big time! :/

Man my history has been crazy

G1->Eris->Incredible->Droid X->Fascinate->Thunderbolt->EVO 3d->Photon->SG2 Epic Touch->International GS2->GSM SGN

So I have had a lot of phones, Verizon would always let me upgrade my wife and I's line all the time so that helped and I always sold them for big profits on ebay/craigslist. I really haven't spent much of my money on phones.

When the Incredible first came out, I sold it a month later on ebay for 600.

The SGN right now is the best I have used, then the SGII, then my Droid X.

To anyone who just watched the end of college gameday...
Corso just said that VT is 17-1 against teams in North Carolina and is going to improve that today to 18-1. They are playing Clemson. Since when did Clemson move to North Carolina!?

I take offense to that! Although I will agree that VT has been playing at a much higher level than Clemson for the last month, we still have the talent to pull this off with good execution. And we ARE NOT in NC. :mad:

Wow, I feel so...inadequate. See if you can keep up with mine:

Nokia candy bar phones --> iPhone (edge) --> iPhone 3gs --> SGN (soon hopefully)

In my defense I've been wanting to switch to android for the past year but had to wait for my contract to expire in June and now waiting for the right device.

Heh! This is not a prediction, and I was only funnin with the "Got Out Of Dodge" phrase.:)

As a time killer before the GA - LSU Game I called my local COSTCO's Wireless Advocates Kiosk and spoke with the manager.

I opened with: "I understand the Galaxy Nexus is coming soon and I am wondering if Costco will have a package like the Bionic did with the OEM accessories.

He returned volley with a "Not sure about the included package other than there will be some sort of a package as the norm. The OEM package had lots of advanced promotion so most likely it will not be an OEM package. But until we get the pallet....who knows. We always include a Blah Blah..(....I'll save you that.....).

I was then informed without asking - the GN is shown on our system as "Shipped". I have no tracking data yet".

Then he enthusiastically asked if he could call when he knows more. I asked, "Know more about the package?". He said yes and to let you know when it will be available.
We exchanged contact info and I called his back to confirm.

So.............:):eek:
