So, if you're in the Midwest, Verizon is offering a $100 3G to 4G discount. If you don't have a 4G phone now, this would be a great opportunity to use it on your GNex.

I also asked to move my Loyalty (NE2) discount up since it's on 12/29, and the rep said he'd leave a note and that the store should give me no hassle since it's 2 weeks away.

Now, if I am getting both discounts, I'm looking to save $130 on my GNez, so maybe it will only be $170! And if they ever do release it for $199 maybe it will be $30! Haha, I know, that last one is a dream, but still, $170 instead of $300 is a nice figure, eh?

Do you have a link? I'm in Ohio but haven't received anything from Verizon about a discount program. I have a Dinc so I should be eligible. Thanks!

Well I just called my local corp store and they said this discount was for a very small group with only certain zip codes. I live in Cleveland and I wasn't eligible. Last I heard I live in the midwest :(

Side note: Those guys are tough! Not even a hint of news about the Gnex. They don't even have accessories yet. Still hoping for something this week though.

The power of being polite and attentive to a CSR.

So I called back because I saw that someone said it was specific to where you live. Turns out that where I live, I am not eligible, but because the previous rep this morning did notate it on the account, I should be able to enjoy the $100 off.

I also further confirmed that the $30 could be discounted prior to by NE2 date, and he notated that as well.

All I have to (here's the caveat) is order it through CSR, which sucks cuz I wanted to just pick it up, but you win some you lose some, and as long as I can get the phone at $170 (free FedEx shipping- which he said I'd get and would take 1-2 business days to arrive), all should be good! He said something about the discount only being able to be applied through CS and that the early NE2 had to be approved by a supervisor and in that case the order would have to be placed with them for inventory and audit purposes. Not sure how much of this all is true (other than my discounts of course). Can't wait.

He told me not to upgrade to anything else cuz he is confident the phone will be great, and he doesn't want me to upgrade to something I'll end up unhappy with. Now if I could get that date...

Anyone want to dig for a list of zip codes? Is it based on the zip code where your account says you live or the zip code of the store? I'm not above driving a few zip codes away to get $100 off.

I'm in CA, but will be in Chicago for during Christmas. Will stop by when I'm in town. Hopefully the $100 discount applies there. I'd probably save a nice chunk on sales tax too (doubt IL is the same as CA where we get charged sales tax on the full retail price regardless of whether we get it discounted on a two-year contract).

Chicago has had 4G for a while, so I don't think it's a "new" market, but I haven't called any of the stores, to ask.

I'm not exactly sure. I had read it somewhere in the forum and so I called Verizon (611) to find out the specifics. Like I said, I think I lucked out because the first rep went ahead and notated my account to be able to get the discount, and the second rep then clarified that I didn't qualify but that it would still be honored because of my earlier conversation and it appearing on my notes from that first call.

I would say call CS and ask them about the 3G to 4G discount available for customers in the midwest.
