***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I like to consider myself a realist, not a pessimist. I know how the corporate world works, especially Verizon. They don't care about us, just their bottom line.

If that's true, what's wrong with that. Corporations are in business to make profits.

Also, if the delay is due primarily to help sell other phones, what's wrong with that if that motive meets VZ's overall objective to make more profits? In other words, why should our general impatience outweigh corporate objectives?

That is a bunch of speculation on your part.

Nope, no speculation whatsoever. Samsung and Google announced the Galaxy Nexus, very publicly, without first securing a commitment from Verizon for a launch. No part of that is speculative.

It doesn't matter what was going on with Verizon -- maybe they've been fixing bugs, maybe they've been trying to work out their release schedule, maybe the dog ate their homework. The point is, Verizon wasn't ready to release, but Samsung and Google announced anyway. And ever since then, people have been blaming Verizon for "delays," when Verizon never said they were ready to begin with.

Agreed. I'm getting sick of this to the point that if it comes out any time after this weekend, I'm going to just wait and see what the Transformer Prime is like in person before I make a decision. I can afford both, but I can't buy both (the wife) if I want to go on vacation next month.

I'll probably wait until AT&T comes out with an HD screen on something, then I'll jump. They've got great 4G in Chicago.

Totally feel the same way you do. More than likely I'll go back to the iPhone 5 when it's released next year. Currently using the 4S, but like the bigger screen size. Hoping the iPhone 5 is around the 4" mark which is what I think it will be and is an ideal size.

Seriously guys, all that hate with Verizon delaying a phone that was "never" given an official launch date is getting over the top. It's obvious that this phone is having major bug issues on Verizon network thus the "delayed announcement" of a release date. It has nothing to do with trying to generate more RAZR or Rezound sales, but rather to make sure a new OS (ICS) works with their network. We already heard about two issues (Volume and now possible USB) if Big Red released this phone on 11/17 with all those glaring issues everyone would be mad when the Apple fanboys come online and make fun of your flagship bug filled device.

Just be patience and let the process work itself out.

While I can see you point, I wish people would stop denying that an official launch date was issued yesterday. It was official and that's that. These weren't rumors or leaks or anything like that. Verizon employees across the country were officially provided with launch dates and permitted to communicate those dates to their customers. These are representative of the company, just like any other representative and they were backed by Verizon to start the sales process (i.e. reserve phone, make appointments, ect.). Even if it was a computer glitch, Verizon has now made an official misstatement to it's customers and they should at least step up to the plate and admit their error.

They already have with the LG phone they introduced this past Sunday. LTE, HD IPS screen. Supposed to be pretty nice, might want to check it out.

I felt this was worth re-quoting in case someone missed it.

I'm as frustrated as the rest of you that this phone is possibly being delayed yet again. But let's put this in perspective. There are kids who will go to bed hungry tonight and have no reason to be excited about the holidays.

Take a break from hating on Verizon and do something nice for someone else today. It will feel great to finally have this phone in hand, but in the meantime, knowing you made some kid's eyes light up on Christmas morning will be even better...

If this "delay" is true I'll be very disappointed, but I feel more like laughing hysterically than screaming angrily. I can't believe the apparent failure to seemlessly deliver this high profile product to market. It really gives the impression of incompetence across the board.

But, I'm more upset about the flow of information or lack thereof. VZW was quick to jump on the bad PR they received over the Google Wallet flap recently. They realize "we" are out here in the dark, yet they say nothing. This bothers me most.

ATT just released the LG Nitro with a 720p ips display and lte.

I was just thinking about that. What about the guy who said he would mail out phones to people so that they got them on Friday?

If your talking about "abbey" turned out "he/she" was telling a little white lie :p

Folks should keep that in mind, we are dealing in general with salespeople. I don't think I've EVER met a completely honest one. (feel free to use any variation of your favorite lawyer joke)

You will get 32GB and between T-Mobile & Verizon there is no comparison.
Thank you for the response.
Judging by the posts today, if T-Mobile is so much worse than Verizon, they must be really, really bad. :)

I guess I may just wait a little while and see what happens. The cost difference is rather large.

Galaxy Nexus on Verizon:
450minutes+1000 texts+ 4gb data=39.99+10+30+taxes=about $90, times 24 months=
$2,160+$299 for the phone is a total of $2,459

Galaxy Nexus unlocked on T-Mobile=
$30 per month times 24 months+$730 for the phone = $1,450

Is Verizon $1000 better than T-Mobile?

(Not that it is worth anything, but I really do feel bad for all of you, I am not even their target audience and I was excited about this phone, but with the delays and lack of information I can see how frustrating this is.):(

Not mine, I always assumed it wouldn't release until the end of December. Even in January, to me, it will still be THE phone to have. It's a Nexus phone. It's not about specs.

Truelove... I was ready to beat you down yesterday with all of the negativity. Couldn't believe that you wouldn't accept all of the rumors and intell about 12/9. My apologies... you were correct to doubt anything until we actually see phones exchanged for money.
