what a lot of people seem to fail to realize is what releasing a phone in which one of its MAJOR features isnt working properly, and 4g LTE is a big deal on this phone. do you know how many people(regular joes not tech forum folks) would simply walk away from it if they said "yea, well, its supposed to be 4g lte but its broken right now" or how bad that would look on verizon as a company. and with the extra attention this phone in particular is getting, it would only be magnified to be worse. not to mention the inevitable morons who, even if they bought knowing 4g was down, would start blowing up their tech support lines and clog them up . theres a lot more to this than some of us want to realize

You make it sound like that's not going to already happen with all the other 4G phones they are selling right now and up until the problem is fixed.

I had an interesting afternoon. My daughter needed a new car battery, so off to Costco we went. Of course, what's a trip to the big C without a little visit to the phone kiosk? So we walk up to the gal, and she's holding a a brand new phone, with a freshly opened box on the counter. Before I could blurt it out, my daughter says "What phone is that?" She replies "a Galaxy Prime!" Momentarily stunned, I quickly recovered with "Can I see it?" She says sure, and hands it to me. I asked her a question about it, and she told me she literally just got it 30 seconds ago. We asked her if it would be available Friday, and she said she thought so. Nothing ground-breaking here, but it was nice to get a feel for the size of the thing and how solid it was. Alas, it was a dummy phone, so we couldn't play with it, but we got to hold it!

After we got home and installed the new car battery, we decided to take a trip to the friendly VZW store, mainly to ask questions about discounts and such, but also to see if the Sales Consultant would be forthcoming with any info. When I said I was interested in the SGN, his face kind of lit up. "That's an awesome phone" he offered, but that ended the info spill right there. After some playful banter about "what if a phone just happened to be laying on the counter" he laughed and said, "yeah, but it's not supposed to be. I could get fired for releasing any info." I told him I understood and figured that was that.

But then, to my amazement, he said "hang on a sec", so we waited as he talked to his manager, disappeared into the back room, and emerged with the holy grail. It was really funny, first how we caught the Costco gal at the exact right moment, and then caught the V guy at a time when he was feeling generous.

So, long story short (too late?) we got to play with the thing, get a feel for the beauty of the display, the speed of the shutter, the accuracy of the keyboard. This thing is definitely worth the wait. And to top it off, I think my daughter is now leaning towards this phone instead of the 4S. My gosh, the 4S just looks like an ancient brick next to the Nexus.

I know a lot of people out there are upset about this, but I'm in a good place. I put a new rom on my OG Droid, and it will get me by until this thing is released. Hopefully, very soon...I can't imagine them sitting on stock for very long.

Peace.

See, this is what I don't get. Stores have the phone in stock. If it weren't for the whole "do not display/sell until 12/9" thing, they could easily just hand them over to customers. So how can Verizon "delay" this thing? It's out there people. It's not in the corporation's hands anymore...

That's weird. My 3G is working the same as always.

DL has been posting most of the day saying that even their 3G service has been off and on. It's not happening to everyone, but it is happening to a lot of people.

My friend's Xoom and iPhone 4 are both down and out. Another friends 4S is down as well, same area up in Jersey. So it's some sort of widespread general internet issue VZW is having, not just with LTE.

So I guess my question to you then would be: What are they telling every other customer (your average customers) who are in their stores right now? Or tomorrow, or the next day? They have to tell them the same thing or show them the door and shutter the windows.

I wouldn't blame VZW if this is why they are delaying. It would suck, because I don't get 4G where I live anyhow, but I would understand that gameplan. (I travel every weekend; that is when I'll utilize 4G.) But on the flip-side, I don't see how they couldn't launch as planned and sell it as they currently are with every other phone on their shelves. "Thats a great choice Mr ZX. You're going to be floored with the 4G speeds you get with this device when the service is restored."

It's obvious now that the MotoRazr has indeed become aware. It has sensed the threat that is the Galaxy Nexus and is doing its best to stop it's launch. It's only a matter of time until the gov't starts up its international security system and the Razr takes control. Friday is Judgement Day, and there is only one thing that can save us.

"Too powerful to fall into the wrong hands...." Well, it must have fallen into the wrong hands ;)
