OT:

Dammit, Pujols to Angels?? And stupid me, I was holding some sort of hope that the Cubs wouldn't send a token lowball offer, but I guess they did, in typical fashion. Frakking cheapskates.

Oh well. Pujols has been in decline the last 3 years, but he's still the best hitter.

OT:

I was hoping he'd stay in the NL. The Rays are going to face him 10 times. Eek!

We're saying that Google has continued to make strives forward, they went from a lot of buttons to all touchscreen plus volume/power. Meanwhile apples devices look exactly the same, pretty much same size and everything too i believe.

So you mean Apple got it right the first time? I'm not sure what the iPhone is supposed to "evolve" into. Bigger screens? Yes, that woudl be nice. I think Jobs' obsession with 3.5 being "optimal" is narrow minded.

And while there is a multitude of form factors to choose from with Android, a lot of it is junk. It's a free OS,s o everyone and their brother jumped on it. Sure, that's choice but a lot of it isn't anything I'd choose. Cheap, plasticky, poorly made devices with an overlay that's usually buggy and ugly. I don't see the plus.

Edit - Just want to be clear I'm really not interested in another iteration of iOS vs. ANdroid. I'm a smartphone agnostic, I buy what I believe to be the best regardless of manufacturer. Right now I feel that's select Android vendors. Next year, it could be Apple again.

Thanks! Does this mean that you, um, are keeping them? :eek:

At least hide them in between your mattress. :p

LOL

You are a good looking guy Hans, but I'm not interested in good looking guys. ;)

I just removed the posts. If you want them back up at any point then they can be restored.

These 10 cent apps are really making this wait much much worse... I would like to purchase them and use them at 10 cents... but either the app is not compatible with my OG Droid or I don't have the storage space for it, so I can't actually buy it now to have at least for when I DO get the Nexus... sigh...

Come on Verizon... enough - make it happen, I am so disappointed in you right now it's not even funny anymore.

It's NEVER been funny to me ..... :rolleyes:

This hits the nail on the head. I really wish Cingular/ATT and all the other proprietors of GSM in the US hadn't dropped the ball so bad over the years. I wish GSM was better than CDMA but its just not. IMO Verizon's network is much better and will always be much better than ATT's. I prefer the nature of GSM but I can't stand the network, at least in my area.

How long does it take for the "Premium" tag take to kick in? I signed up for premium back on Nov 20th, but I'm still a Reggy

I paid last night around 12:30. I got up this a.m. and it wasn't processed. I PM'd Phases and within 10 minutes he got back to me and fixed it.

I had an intern in training this AM and after we filmed Jody the Love Ninja I took him by Costco and told him we were going to look at his interviewing technique. I must say I would not suspect him for a PI in probe mode.

I told him to candidly ask about the GN at the kiosk and find out if he had it, if not when, when he last heard he will have it, about grandfathered data, and how going through them over a Verizon Store and anything else.

This intern was oblivious to the GN being a iPhone user. I think he did pretty good. The Rep was making ready a tether for the GN the whole time we were talking with him. You will hear at the end he mentions the "Spot" for it.

OK, Edited In.....

Thanks Guys, Link Removed, Bandwidth Exceeded
OK.......... In Georgia, by LAW it is LEGAL to record a conversation be it a phone line or otherwise on one condition.

One of the persons being recorded HAS to be INVOLVED in the and have full knowledge the conversation is being recorded.

You cannot legally tape your wife and boyfriend's conversations unless one of them is aware they are being recorded.

and just to add my piece to the puzzle here i went in an talked to my rep that i usually buy from. He's down to earth guy seems to always tell me the truth, he said they were suppose to release the 9th but they got told its pushed back and he doesn't have a date, and every employee in the store said they wanted one, and he wouldn't say whether he had anything there in stock he just said no nothings here.

Not that this is new but just thought i would throw it out there.

Hmm. I suppose it's possible then. Who knows.
What is obvious, is that most of the Verizon reps know something now and they are uncomfortable...

Oh, I forgot to mention, during the convo, I asked the rep if he was interested in the Gnex, he said no. So I asked if he was an iphone guy. He said "No, I like Android, I'm a RazR guy" whetever that means!
He said he had no interest in the Gnex, lol. I mentioned all the positives about the Gnex and he was like I just like the RazR better. I asked if there was any particular reason and he just repeated what he had said already...Is this more desperate line feeding from Corporate to the reps, or what!?:rolleyes:

Just called radio shack for an update. I got worried when he told me they don't have the phone, but when I reiterated my request he responded with, "they're coming in today. Call back later or first thing tomorrow."

Still nothing solid, but I sure feel on track to have one within 24 hrs. Here's to being optimistic! *clink*

ETA: I stopped by a normal retailer and asked and he kinda looked butthurt and said "not tomorrow anymore, sorry.". That's all he'd say.

My boss was nice enough to code it in pearl for me
the redirect was html instead of in the header, so thish checks if the HTML on the site has changed
#!/usr/bin/perl

use LWP::UserAgent;

my $ua = LWP::UserAgent->new();
$ua->agent("none");

$delay=10*60;

while (1==1){
my $req = HTTP::Request->new( GET => "http://preorder.verizonwireless.com/galaxynexus/" );
my $res = $ua->request($req);

foreach $i ($res->content){
if ( $i =~ m|content="0;URL=http://smartphones.verizonwireless.com/nexus/"| ){
print "Contains refresh.. Sleeping for ten minutes.\n";
sleep $delay;
} else {
print "No longer refreshing to the generic nexus page... Take a look!\n"; exit;
}
}
}

LOL funny, That said did you get approval to post the conversation? did the person know they were being recorded?

I don't about where you live and I assume you know the laws there being in the biz. But in MD its illegal (even for PI's) to record a conversation without someone's knowledge...
