I can see how lack of permanent buttons can be a preference, but how is having them a "flaw"? Many have argues that it's convenient having them separate from the screen. Like on the Rezound where the keys don't detract from the 720p screen's real estate unlike the GNex's depending on what it's doing at the time.

Fair enough. It's preference, really. (Flaw was meant as a joke).

I'll play. For me:

1) First ICS experience
2) Larger screen than either the Rezound or Razr
3) Super OLED screen which I prefer to the Rezound's non-OLED screen (even though the Rezound is "HD"

1) Biggest thing for me is PURE experience because I don't like rooting/ROMing. I will likely root my Gnex, but I doubt I will actually tinker with it.
2) First updates
3) I think the phone will last me longer than anything else on the market. I'd like to go a full two years with out being desperate to get a new phone the second I'm eligible for an upgrade.

It's not who he's calling....it's how he goes about the call. The force is very strong with young Steven

I've tried every avenue of getting information out of the people. Charming, angry, complacent...I'm also fairly certain I was flirting with an overweight african american woman and STILL got nothing! lol

So now we have the "12th" confidently and the "15th" confidently. Do you see where this is going? Nobody has a clue and anybody that says they 'know' is not being 100% honest. It's this stuff that gets everyone (at least me) disappointed time after time after time.

I agree, there is no date right now, not for the low level employees. Its back to the small group of execs that have been holding it close for the past two months now.

3) Large & HD Screen (coming from Dinc)

#4 used to be NFC before they squashed the whole Google Wallet thing.

Folks, it would be really helpful if along with your VZW rep experiences, you could also tell us your location. Specifics would be great, but even just a region would suffice. Lot of info here, and as we're all trying to figure out a strategy, it would be helpful to know where these conversations are happening.

Strategy for what?

I called VZW CSR and had a long with a nice lady there. She told me the Gnex was put on hold for now. She also said to call back in two days as it's going to be released then.

I told her I had seen the phone at Samsung Experience in NYC and that I wanted it.

So, I believe her. Two more days, folks. :)

Edit from my convo with Early: "and i completely believe it - as i predicted, people will have it in their hands by monday due to sales on friday or saturday as driven by retail pressures to not miss a full weekend of sales in december"

Saturday launch Steve? Has that ever happened before?
