Root Rom issue, or antenna's shorting out?

The last 2 weeks I have barely been getting 1xev and 1-2 bars 3g. When in a 4g area the antenna kicks on and off repeatedly and never fully connects.

I performed a 'factory' reset on my BAMF SOAB Rom, and still the same issue. I thought it was a outage until my wife and friends still all have service, and I traveled from MI to GA and had the same issue.

The phone was dropped in a lake about 2 months ago, but has worked flawlessly since it was dried out until about the beginning of last week.

Think it fried finally?

I am assuming that you have the newest radio's installed.

Best case would be this is a SIM card issue and a new SIM would fix it. Otherwise I would think your inital asumption of it being shot are correct :(

Yeah, newest radios are installed and had been working great. IIRC the SIM card didn't get wet.

The new phone should be here today, I couldn't mess with it any more as it is a business phone. It sucks because this had been a VERY good phone until it went swimming.

I'm in the Pittsburgh Area (just for reference) and I've had a similar issue over the past few days. Just updated the radio to see if it would rectify the issue this morning.

Verizon has had an outage the last few days according to Engadget, but I was having problems the last couple weeks.

My new phone came yesterday, and it is working, aside from the 4g outage in the next town over. Just in time I guess, as my old one will not even boot up now. My 4g was working in a different town yesterday though.

Thanks for the info! I rarely even browse Engadget anymore because they tend to write about a lot of crap I don't care about haha

Thanks again!
