***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Been lurking for the past month while waiting for the Gnex because this thread always seems to have the latest news. After the lack of release today, I decided that my OG Droid needed to be replaced immediately, so I can stop obsessing over the Gnex. I compared the screens on the Razr and Rezound before choosing one and decided that the Rezound was the only real option right now.

Razr: I was very impressed by the vivid colors and incredibly deep blacks (the black bezel completely blends with the screen if there's a black background), but the pixelation was VERY obvious and annoying on text, especially next to the Rezound. The sealed battery is also a big negative.

Rezound: No pixelation at all and a very impressive screen, but blacks are almost gray which is pretty dissappointing. Also, it really can't be used in direct sunlight. I'm not a fan of the red accents and overall the phone is really generic-looking.

Seeing both of the screens makes me think that the combination of 720p and super AMOLED on the Gnex is going to be beautiful. I'm just worried about having an even lighter/less-durable phone because even the Rezound feels very light and flimsy compared to my OG Droid (which is built like a tank :p). Unless permanent root and an ICS ROM comes to Rezound very soon, I think I'll be returning it for a Gnex. :(

Well, FWIW my CSR at the local corporate store told me without hesitation that they'll be selling the GNex on December 15th, but that she'd call me Wednesday to confirm, since the date (still) isn't set in stone. Yay...trying not to get my hopes up.

I'm still not sure where the 15th is coming from. I don't know if the stores are getting the info via word of mouth, e-mail, or if it's in their system now.

Edit: I'm chatting with a friend of mine who works at a corporate store, and he confirmed December 15th is not anywhere in their system. He got the December 15th via word of mouth.

MW3 and Yuengling its a start! im pulling my 24 at the firehouse tomorrow so cant stay out late.

Mmmm Yuengling, my favorite!

100 thanks from me if somebody can tell me the beer in my hand as my profile picture...I HIGHLY doubt anyone in here will get it. I'll let it go about an hour then post the picture at a little higher resolution and maybe it will help, but I would love to see someone guess it!

Need some help..........

After both lurking and participating in this thread for weeks on end, i get the impression that the "delays" have been caused primarily by VZW..........for a number of non phone related "selfish" reasons.

Am i correct in feeling this way? Or am i out to lunch?

I find myself on a day to day basis, disliking VZW more and more. I really do not want to feel that way unless it is justified.

Help me out here..............what are your thoughts?

I just asked someone from Verizon if it's still possible to get "Unlimited MHS" and that said that it's "Impossible, and will not happen"

Was hoping to use the trick when I switch over. I'm sure going from Unlimited Data to 4GB isn't going to be too bad (Being that I'll just use WIFI at home, but it's not the point :p)

Pfft, all you guys playing MW3 on Console....Where are the PC players? lol

I think verizon is being real tight lipped and no sending out equipment guides this time lol.

I know this really doesn't matter. But just left Solomon pound mall in Marlborough, MA. Verizon gave me the usual bull but BB said he has them and he was told Sunday. Figured I would let you guys know. Even though it really means nothing.

Although this may have already been mentioned, but I remember back (several thousand posts ago) that there was a BB ad starting this Sunday.... Although each person at BB seems to have been telling and retelling different rumors, what are the odds that the ad may STILL contain the Nexus? Has anyone been able to get a hold of their local newspaper ad for BB that will actually be distributed this Sunday?

I used to deliver newspapers for about 10 years, and the ads that go in the Sunday Papers were pre-printed a week or so ahead of time, just waiting to be inserted in the Sundays big paper....sometimes a Saturday paper or a holiday version, etc
