***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Anyway, many times it isn't what you say, but how you say it that makes a difference.

I couldn't agree more, I supervise a small department of people that work in close quarters day in and day out...this results in alot of drama when people dont get along, and I just find that most of the time disagreements aren't what is being said but how it's being said...language, tone etc.

Mine too. I love the characters and the incredible double story lines they have. I've been re-watching many of them on Netflix while this season winds down. Campbell is a cult dream in anything he is in.

I actually have all of this current half-season DVRed. Haven't seen any of them yet. Why?

Because I've been too addicted to the Android Central podcast every Thursday night! When it's over, BN is already 10 minutes in or so, and it's not worth watching unless you start from the beginning. So I have like 5 or 6 episodes recorded and I need to have a marathon one of these days. Maybe while my Nexus is charging :)

Here's my race appliance, which has won a couple of series and lots of individual races. I teach people to race for real. Every time I strap in, even with a purpose built racecar and full safety gear, I know there is a decent chance that I could end up with a balled up car or worse.

924? Kewl, I haven't seen one of those in ages!

The likely thing, as voiced by Hanette and a few others, is that corporate bureaucracy is holding back the phone. No bugs nothing else. This is likely true because the 2 or so people (participating in these forums) who have successfully got a phone activated are not reporting any bugs.

Very informative post overall, but the reports from a sample of only two users over a span of only a few hours isn't significant. I don't suspect there are any technical reasons holding up the release, but if there were it could easily take thousands of sales before any failure reports start coming in.

What is a Wawa?

It's a classic George Harrison song

OMG OMG OMG OMG - So with talk of WaWa I just went to their website and pulled up the locations list........there is now one in PARSIPPANY!!!!!!!!! It is the only one within 20 miles but it's getting closer!!!!!!

I'm literally doing a little happy bop!

Pix or it didn't happen. ;)

I used to have a Google rep when I was in marketing that would say "dude" to me all the time when I talked to him. It was annoying in first place since I am a woman

It's the Transylvanian accent.

Nope, I really don't think they care. They are a tank, and we are shooting at them with pistols. They barely notice us.

I wasn't really thinking of this forum as embarrassing them, but i bet their marketing dept doesn't care to be made a fool of by respected tech sites and journalists.

I'll make a bold statement and say I am very sure of the 15th. I will gladly take an egg in my noggin if I'm wrong.

The conflict comes with Google wanting to keep their device largely “untouched” — it is their flagship device after all — and by Verizon demanding Google Wallet be removed, this is not only a disservice to their loyal customers but it could be borderline illegal if defined by a little something called “Net Neutrality” that we’ve reported on in the past.

I'm not to sure I would get much use out of Google wallet so it doesn't really bother me if it's on there, mainly cause in my small podunk town it wouldn't catch on like it would in a big city. But if this delay is really because Google might be forcing Verizons' hand in this. That is great. KARMA. For bloating our phones with things we don't want and now they have to put something on there that they don't want. Hilarious!!

For that, I could wait until the 15th.

No. But "Sookie"(in my best Bill Compton voice) is always an option! If I was a vamp that would be my target.:D

I still can't get into too many Vampire movies or TV shows. Too much myth and not enough reality for my taste. The only thing that has ever come close tot he truth is some of the books by Anne Rice.

Since the forum's moving a bit slow, I'd love to solicit the advice from some of you :D

I consider myself quite good with technology, but never made the jump to a smart phone (really loved my sleek LG Decoy, had 12 gigs of music through sd card). So, SGN will be my first GN.

Any suggestions (or links to sources) for must-have apps to get when me, or anyone else, gets their hand on the SGN?

Where should I go to find out how to root it, and what program will then allow tethering?

I realize these might be slightly diverging from the thread topic, and are probably on the top 10 list of questions n00bs ask - I appreciate your pointing me in the right direction!

Well, if I said that I figured nobody would have any clue what I was talking about. :p Besides, history is written by the victors isn't it. If the south had won it would be in the books as the First Manassas, but since they lost the Union gets to have their version of events.

There are three sides to every story. Your side, their side and then the truth.

I came for the nexus, but stayed for the history discussion...

Some battles were known by the southern name though: Shiloh and Vicksburg for instance. I always got a kick out of the Civil War (War between the States?) naming conventions. Geez, i'm a geek And a nerd.

Here is a very good article about the phone's delay. It contains more inside information. I don't know how Chris (the writer) got it. :p

Want Answers For Verizon Galaxy Nexus Delay? Apparently It Has Everything To Do With Google Wallet

I read this earlier and honestly thought he got the info from your post earlier...i still have no reason to think otherwise...i appreciate all of you and your sources input but am not sold on that idea...it seems like the Google Wallet issue would've been worked out during contract negotiations...as i'm sure everyone else is i'm very skeptical about ALL leaked info at this point...please keep your info coming cause i do really appreciate it but at this point there's no telling what's going on behind closed doors and we will get the phone when we get the phone!!!

Wait, so someone had to eat their 4s cause you actually got a Nexus today(even though you did the right thing in returning it), now you wanna make a bet if it's not the 15th your gonna take an egg in noggin. Sweet! My guess is you will win this bet too.

I agree, I think I could live without it too. I live in a small town too, but I was surprised when I checked how many places in my town that already accept it.

Question about the $100 mailer discount before I go to sleep:
I live in a 4G coverage area and I had activated a Thunderbolt on my line (bought off contract) in May. In mid-November, I sold it through Swappa and had to downgrade to my sister's OG Droid (I thought the Nexus would be coming soon; looks like I've had to deal with this phone for quite some time now).
So my question is, would I be eligible for the upgrade? I'm on a family plan BTW. Didn't get a the thing in the mail AFAIK, but if I asked for it could they give it to me?

Agreed..I'm all for Google winning this one, for net neutrality and all. I just wish they'd take em both off for now, give us the damn phone and OTA patch it to us when they figure it all out.

Other than that, I don't see a time where I'll have my GN but not my actual wallet (and the credit cards inside it) in the next few years
