Like reported earlier they have to be willing to do everything, but not charge your credit card till it goes live in their system. Or, give them cash with a hand written receipt. Not likely, unless the Manager really wants to get your business today and is willing to do that.

The angry jerk manager that chewed me out.....(started out over a non-Nexus issue) told me they didn't even get the phone from Samsung yet........
Going out of your way to make stuff up....stuff that isn't true....not acceptable!

Stopped at a Best Buy Mobile store in the mall. Guy told me that they aren't allowed to talk about it... BUT ITS AWESOME!! I laughed and said "I see"... They obviously have them haha

One of the places I tried yesterday left me a voicemail saying they just got their shipment, come on in for my upgrade. #*&R%$ Moto Droid! Sticking it to me again, phone never rang, no missed call, just the phantom voicemail from *last night*.
But, that does mean stock is still being shipped. This phone is not getting pulled by VZW. Very hard to think that is possible at this point.
The folks I talked to today all said Thursday. No one had a demo.

Anyone trying just cash in instances where they can't get it through the system? I know, so stoneage, but it seems the best mix of no-risk for the retailer, no compromised PII for the buyer...

Nowhere in the screen shot does it say to tell customers that they have no phones in stock or to tell customers they sent anything back.
It simply regarding customer asking when they're available, say that there is no information to share.
That's hardly lying and it's certainly not encouraging the things that you're upset over.
So I agree with you 100% -
If representatives are lying, then it's appropriate to complaint that some employees are dishonest.
Complaining that the corporation's policy is to lie is contrary to the evidence.

Computer-tracked inventory - the bane of our existence. Yeah yeah, controls costs, information, inventory management, I know. But still - the bane of our existence.
Once upon a time, you could go into any store on the holidays, try to buy something that wasn't in the system, the manager could look at the price, ring it as miscellaneous, make a note by hand for inventory, and you'd be wished a happy day with thanks for shopping there. Was once common practice at all large retailers.

It's already been said, but my vote is with Bobby's Burger Palace, which started out in Philly and now has locations in NJ. I've only been to the one in West Philly near UPenn - the napa vally burger was so tender and flavorful. Thank you to those of you who recommended Burger Bar in Vegas - I'll check it out when I'm in there for new years

It seems extremely ignorant on Verizon's part that they have an item in the store, like physically there, and there are also people in the store trying to buy said item, but they won't allow it. I...it...they...ughpasoerui9gopagopn.

I personally think the phone is being delayed cause not every store got their Nexus shipments yet. I know for a fact that the Northeast region dont have their stock yet, but I'm pretty sure Midwest and South got their's already. So the 12/9 could never even happen because not all the phones are in yet. All the other reasons and theories i've heard so far are just dumb, this one makes the most sense.

I off to go withdraw $300 from the bank, bringing 2 debit cards 1 credit, some godiva chocolate, a rose, and a water gun. $300 for the cash method, credit cards for the copy ringing it up later method, godiva chocolate and a rose for the sympathy method, and a water gun for intimidation. May this work out somehow someway sometime today!!! See you all later with either a very disappointed response or a response sent from the Nexus! I'm off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz....erm...um I mean I'm off to see the NEXUS the Wonderful NEXUS of Horrible VZW !!!!! p.s. (at RadioShack)

I think you are in the minority of that thinking at this point. No offense and I can't speak for everyone of course but it seems that way.
I believe that if it is a fact that stores don't have them its not the VZW stores they are retailers and were not going to have them for the day 1 launch anyway. I think this ISIS Vs. Wallet thing holds some ground as though. I believe that most of the reports of stores not having the stock is simply employees lying because they don't know what else to do because they don't want our constant questions and don't want to get in trouble for talking about it.
