***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

That doesn't make sense. If they had launched it on Friday, it would have had this weekend AND next weekend before Christmas to sell. I don't think more people are going to buy if if they release later. If anything, the opposite is true, as more and more people get sick of waiting and either buy a different phone or take their business to another carrier.

Yeah that makes sense too. I don't know, maybe it would make a bigger splash on the last weekend of Christmas shopping?

Who knows. As I said, it sounds like speculation, but I wouldn't be surprised if this was true, too.

It's Verizon.

Cheetara tells me:
Someone told me that it's being held up because they want it to release on bigger shopping day. Missed BF. Christmas falls on Sunday so that weekend is dead. Weekend of 17,18 will be huge, makes more business sense.

So, I'm sure it's speculation, but that's what some are saying over there in V land.
Cheetara seems to be a better source than Miss Piggy. good move Han. BTW...tell Hannette we miss her :)

I for one doubt Verizon has any coherent, thought-out strategy driving this release. VZW's behavior comes across as indecision bordering on incompetence, but like you said, who knows? ;)

I wonder if there will be an ad campaign to help push it. Hasn't some of the previously leaked info indicated that they are thinking that the Gnex will be similar to the original droid in terms of demand?

i am reasonably sure their "strategy" involves something like this:

Stopped by a Best Buy Mobile tonight, and the guy there was awesome. He said "Verizon doesn't want us telling people this...we've got the phones in the back, but we're not allowed to take them out of there until Thursday." He's also been chomping at the bit for a Nexus and is amazed at how badly Verizon has done with this launch.

Strangely enough my offer to buy the phone tonight and then live in "the back" until Thursday didn't go anywhere.
