I got into Clemson - solid SAT scores pretty much secured that. Loved campus, Death Valley is incredible and the town of Clemson was great. Just couldn't afford the tuition coming from, yup, New Jersey.

born and raised in Clemson here. i can see why people love it, i just don't know how so many in Jersey find out about it. having an entire town that only exists because of the university in it is rare and it really promotes a great atmosphere. i opened a sports bar as soon as i graduated, because i could never leave.

gives me goosebumps every time:

For what it's worth guys I was in another Charlotte, NC corporate store tonight picking up a new case for my wifes iPhone and they did confirm they have about 50 GNEX's in stock but can't sell them. The tech told me that it is indeed the wallet/isis issue. He said he thinks that it will be resolved shortly and has heard that the 15th is the date. He said there is too much money at stake for all involved and he thinks Verizon will cave and just release the phone.

I know it's a store rep but just wanted to relay what I was told tonight.

Did you see the one with the yellow sticky that has my name written on it?!? It's written with a sharpie ;)

I know 200% it is. Like I have said in previous post its IMPOSSIBLE that wallet is being blocked. Ether every other carrier that sells a Nexus S and the Gnex are blocking wallet, or what is actually happening (read:REALITY/TRUTH)

Google is blocking it themselves.

The unlocked/unbranded Nexus S not being able to install Google Wallet (without hacking it on) validates my argument.

Period :D

So to see people at stores, and the sources say this, and it to go to the front page of many Android sites is troubling.

You try downloading that app off the market connected to wifi (from a US IP address) without a sim installed? Are the nfc chips the same between the regular S and the sprint S?

Edit: And we know Google has given Verizon the ability to block tethering apps.

No, it does not validate your argument. It has been said before, GW is a US only service (IIRC). Thus, only US phones can have it (obviously). Since Google knows which phones are US ones by the branding, it has restricted it to only those phones. People who imported unbranded/unlocked phones but who live in the US are unfortunately caught in the middle. Since the market blocks based on three criteria (again, IIRC) being phone model, OS version and carrier, the model would prohibit GW from being on those phones via the market, whether Google intended that or not.

I do not know what is going on, but your post above is not as given as your present it to be.

Why? Only an idiot would spend $1200 on a cell phone that will be outdated in less than 6 months and will be worth less than $300 in less than a year.

It is not even Verizon. They just put that in the title. Read the cell bands:

The Listing said:
GSM 850/900/1800/1900 (Quadband) WCDMA (UMTS) 900/1700/2100

Technically, they did not advertise it falsely since the correct cell band field is right. They just used a dishonest word in the title.

EDIT: So it looks liek a VZW phone from the packaging. I think the seller is just an idiot and has the wrong bands for the cell field. However, I also thing there is something fishy going on with that listing, even if it is the VZW version. I would avoid it.

Well, I know a guy who buys himself a nice phone every so often and eats the losses when he wants a new one :D

If you have the dough and want it that bad, then why not?

Id have me several phones if i had the $ but i can only save up so much at a time

Except you don't import the unlocked GSM Nexus S. You walk into any Best Buy in the United States and buy one, or you buy it from an online US retailer. It is a United States model.

Google Wallet is only for the Sprint Nexus S. Nobody should have expected it on a Verizon phone. Just like if you were to buy the ATT Nexus S (yes, there is a difference between the ATT model and the unlocked model), you would not get Google Wallet either.

You might be looking at the wrong auction. The guy has the Verizon version. He has the box, and it shows the correct back plate which I guess he could have gotten elsewhere...but...

That is my take. I was thinking about, how about those people who have a coffee everyday, or sodas, dropping 5-10 a day costing thousands a year.

I don't do that and for me, if I dropped say $1000 on a nexus and only used it for a year, I could easily live with that.

Wait....really? Hmm...well then I was wrong. Please accept my apologies.

I still think there is more to this than simply Google blocking it, and I do think GW is eventually meant to be a platform-wide feature, but I have no idea what is going on right now. Hmm....
